Good Southern Food, really good biscuits

First time at this chain restaurant in Cameron Village. The menu is mainly southern oriented (even the sides such as collard greens) and the service was really friendly. Had dinner this evening and was pleasantly surprised by the tasty food. Cheerful, bright decor lends itself to more of a breakfast place... But the good food makes it a solid choice for good eats all day long.

My wife & I stopped here for breakfast. My wife ordered the SMOKED SALMON SCRAMBLE* ( 3 eggs scrambled with wood-smoked salmon and fresh dill cream cheese. Served with a side of creamy dreamy grits) and said it was very good. I had the PIEDMONT OMELETTE (3 eggs, chicken sausage, crisp turkey bacon, sautéed onions and cheddar cheese served with... More

OK - the eggs are OK - the menu a little to crunchy granola - and even the biscuit is not the best I have had on the road. However, the grits are worth the trip. I never thought I would say that about grits, but they are different - creamy, cheesy, and perfectly seasoned. I make sure to visit... More

I went to Flying Biscuit on Sunday around 1 pm. I thought it would be very busy around brunch time. They told us it was a wait of 30 minutes, but they had a table ready within 10. Our waiter was very pleasant and the service was quick, especially for that busy time of day. The food was excellent. Great... More

Went for breakfast and had to ask a couple of times for items like a straw, more hot tea, ketchup, hot sauce. Ordered the Hollywood omelette, received an omelette, but it wasn't the Hollywood. It was missing spinach and had feta cheese instead of cheddar. I'm guessing the waitress, who couldn't remember to bring back items we asked for, couldn't... More

This yummy restaurant is very pretty with great good and service. The biscuits are flaky and filling. The eggs are good but not great. The sausage was great. The bacon was good. The French toast wasn't coated in a custard egg dip but more like regular toast with raspberry glaze and although not traditional was very good. The grits were... More

I lived in Raleigh for 5 years and this was by far my favorite Breakfast locale throughout! I LOVE this place! I am a French toast connoisseur, I eat it everywhere I go, and this place has some of the best on the planet (expert tip - ask for it with extra creme sauce). The creamy dreamy cheese grits are... We were heading to another place for breakfast, but decided to try the Flying Biscuit. And what a great decision it was. Everything was absolutely delicious- From the fluffy biscuits with apple butter to the Oatmeal pancake with peach compote. The only disappointing thing was I ordered my eggs over medium and didn't receive them that way. They were still... More

I will never return. We were told 25 minute wait. After 30, my husband was told there was still two parties before us. After another 15 minutes, 3 parties called and at least 4 parties that arrived after us being sat before us, we walked out. It was aggravating, improperly managed and unfair to my family, especially my two small... More
