I always come to Sono when in town. The food is delicious and the staff is really friendly. If you want to try sushi, this is a great place to go. The servers take the time to answer your questions and provide suggestions based on your preferences.

Only ate at Sono once but wished I had the chance to again. PROS: Sushi is excellent Servers are nice Service is quick Open late which is very nice for Raleigh since not much is open late. Most restaurants close as early as 7:00 PM but Sono is open until 10:00 PM CONS: Did not have any but only ate... More

unexpected excellent sushi combo. The restaurant is alittle dark and cold but apart from that food and service are very good and very well priced.

The one thing I recall most vividly from my experience at Sono is the music. They were playing a great mix of chillwave that struck a perfect balance of creating a distinctive, fun atmosphere while not being distracting or obnoxious. As far as service goes, our waitress was friendly and attentive. The sushi itself is tasty and aesthetically well-presented. However,... More

OK When I give a restaurant an average rating and I see others have loved it. I have to go back. I not only went back for lunch but we went back later in the week for dinner and drinks because I love the atmosphere. Unfortunately lunch was again just average and dinner was a disaster. Average tasteless rolls weird... More

I ate here last year and was astounded by the quality of the fish in an area where good restaurants are rare and good japanese food almost impossible to find. On a repeat visit it was just as good. The omakase sushi is of astoundingly high quality. Someone here clearly takes great care over the quality control of suppliers. Everything... More

My gut said in NC go for BBQ but a long line and inefficient rental car experience got me to my hotel late on a weeknight and Sono looked like it was still pretty busy. Went for the quick sushi combo plate which was fresh and tasty - washed down with a cold Kirin. I'd go back and would be... More

We went to Sono because it was only on block from our hotel and the Red Bar looked cool as we walked by the restaurant. We were seated quickly. Drew our server is an asset to this establishment. Drew helped us with our menu choices and continued to be attentive throughout our visit. The walls are red and the tables,... More

Reservations on OpenTable, big restaurant space, classy ambiance, right in downtown Raleigh. I had been her once before and it was some of the more amazing sushi I've ever had. My second visit was not quite as impressive. Everything was good but not great. I wouldn't refuse a third visit to maybe try again, so I think its worth checking... More

Very nice ambiance and decent sushi and drinks. A longer than usual wait for two sushi rolls and sake, but delicious entrees and desserts. I highly recommend.
