Fave from the past

I dined here many years ago when they were fairly new in town. Just as it was the first time, the food was fantastic. I will definitely return when in the area again. Staff was friendly and quick with our requests; we sat at the bar. Ambiance just right, music not too loud.

In honor of Father's Day, I made a reservation at this restaurant as my husband loves sushi. The ambiance was perfect for the occasion and the sushi met his expectations; he is hard to please. We will return.

took over an hour to get food. Finally half of my order came out (expensive sashimi platter) that was poorly put together (the fish still had bones in it. I asked about the rest of my order after trying to get the unattentive waitstaff to respond to me for 15-20 minutes to find out that they were out of what... More

My family eats a lot of sushi and although Sono specializes in it, this restaurant rates as average in my view. The ambiance is urban chic and fun. However, the menu is narrow (primarily sushi) and the gluten free options are very limited, particularly if you are looking for cooked sushi. Servings are small and pricey. Mura in North Hills... Went for dinner. Good food, service, and atmosphere. Needs more waiters though. Ramen, sushi platter, dumplings, tuna tartare, all very good.

A little pricey but every penny you spend at Sono is worth it. Today is my 3rd day eating at this restaurant and each day is the same: good food quality, ambiance is decent, the service is excellent, and my overall experience eating at this restaurant exceeds my expectation. Sono will be my only place if I am craving for... More

I've gone to Sono numerous times but I'm just now getting around to writing a review. I'd say that Sono is one of the better Sushi restaurants/bars I've eaten at in the Raleigh-Durham area. The sushi rolls while not 100% Japanese, as this is more of a Japanese-Carolina fusion experience, are good sized and many of them are very tasty.... More

Great quality sushi, sashimi and tempura. Nice service and close to the convention center. Tables are spaced nice and not squished. Pretty decor.

Nice atmosphere and really tasty food, you can't go wrong here especially if you like sushi. Order the Korean BBQ, it's fun and delicious. Once the people sitting next to you see and smell it, they'll be asking what you ordered!

Every time I am in downtown Raleigh I come to eat here. I love the atmosphere, service, and the menu. It is very fresh and extremely appetizing.
