Fast and Good

We're northerners visiting Raleigh, so we came here to try authentic Carolina BBQ. We were not disappointed. The place was packed on Sunday night of Memorial Day, so the locals must love it. Stopped for lunch on our way to Savannah. Very good BBQ and the home made banana pudding was fantastic! Baby back ribs and brisket were delicious. Thank you Team 2 for the great service!

We tried the Pit because of some local recommendations. Let me confess I am a BBQ snob and eat it almost everywhere I go. I have had the privilege of sampling some great BBQ through he years at some of the best BBQ joints in the South. This is not one of them. The place is loud, which is some... More

It seems like they've forgotten sometime in the last year or so how to make good BBQ. Having been there about a year ago and absolutely loving it, I brought a friend who came from out of town to try it. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't very good. One of my friends mentioned the brisket kind of had an... More

I had been to the pit about a year before and remembered it as being fantastic. So when my brother came in out of town, I wanted to take him there. We were not only disappointed by the unwelcoming staff, but also the lackluster food. The brisket was tough and the taste resembled a ballpark frank, the ribs were dry,... More

Went for lunch and was seated right away. The service was "team" style meaning I had 3 servers. Somebody bright my drink, someone else took my food order, a third person delivered the meal and my check. Kind of weird. Even with three servers, nobody came back to check on me or either table beside me after the food was... More

Great service, amazing amazing food, and a fun place to go after the trolley pub. Nothing but good things to say!

My family and I visited this resturant in hopes of a fun time and great food. We got great food but poor service. Our waiter brought us water but never ask if we wanted anything else to drink. Another waiter brought out our food and was rude to a family member. I would not eat at this place again. I... More

Some good friends of ours wanted to get our two families together before our girls went back to school. They suggested we go to The Pit. So we met there on a weeknight last summer. The place was so crowded and very busy. We didn't have to wait too long (I think we had reservations). I had the chopped BBQ,... More

I was at The Pit a few weeks ago with 15 people in town for business. The location and setup for the restaurant is great for groups and the food was wonderful. The person next to me, who is from the area, orders an extra barbequed tofu for the table to share. This sounds like a terrible idea and I... More
