Nice Place

Not what I would expect for a BBQ joint but it was great. Very upscale and a little expensive but the food was outstanding. Nice beer selection as well. Had chopped and fired chicken plate and both were perfect. Had Mac and Cheese with fries it was a ton of food.. Best part was the biscuit and... read more

Enjoyed the food very much, which was served at reasonable prices. Services was fine, location also.

It was a Saturday and had been busy but the bar service was adequate. We didn't wait too long and food was overall great! The service was good too the server knew the menu and was suggestive. I would come back again.

The food was great, the service was fast and very courteous. I had their special BLT with the "thick" bacon, special mayo sauce on Texas toasts. SUPER delicious. The other guests in our party had the chicken plate, and pulled pork sandwich. The chicken was moist, fried but not greasy. The pull pork was seasoned to perfection, the sauces were... More

The Pit was very easy to find and park around and is in a great location. It is styled very modern, but still has a Southern flair. The food was absolutely delicious! They offer both styles of barbecue sauce at each table, so you can experiment. Personally, I love the vinegar-based sauce. Even the sides were amazing! I had the... More

I loved this place, and I'm not always a big fan of Carolina BBQ being from Chicago, but this BBQ was great and so were the sides.

The three of us had an 11:30am reservation and we were fortunate to find three two-hour parking spaces just around the corner! For my meal, I chose the BBQ Soul Rolls- chopped pork BBQ, cabbage collards and candied carrots served with Oak Island sauce and pepper jelly. $6.59 I also added a side of delicious mashed potatoes with gravy. My... More

Charlie Mitchell puts out first class wood cooked eastern NC BBQ. Collards are limp but tasty, mac & cheese to die for. Best fried chicken next to my late mother in laws. Hot, crisp, fresh and oh so good ! Hush puppies and biscuits are perfect and keep comin'. Tea and table water tastes murky. Beware of the tap water... More

Went to North Carolina with a friend to see Pink Martini. The hotel recommended this spot for barbecue and it just happened to be 1/2 mile from where the concert was. Parking is a bit tricky but we lucked out. This place is a gem!! A bit of a wait but worth it. How I have craved their food since... More

I think this is the first place I went out to dinner in Raleigh and anytime someone visits I immediately want to take them here. Make reservations if you have the foresight too because this place is no secret. The service was very good and the food was even better. Don't bother with the fried chicken go straight for the...
