The food here is really good. The pulled pork was juicy and flavorful and awesome. I would recommend this place to anyone.

The food is phenomenal!! We eat here every time we come to town to stay. The ribs, the fried chicken, BBQ, pulled pork, the sides are like grandma made. You won't go wrong eating here. If you leave hungry, can't blame the restaurant. The portions are really large. I always have a take out box.

I suggest making a reservation for any dinner visits, otherwise I recommend you try at lunch time/late afternoon to avoid a long wait. They will take your cell phone and you can wander outside as long as your whole party is back within 10 minutes of the text. Not a problem as there is a chocolate factory and brewery across... More

My family took my sister to the Durham location for her birthday dinner. I was amazed at how spacious the restaurant was, compared to Raleigh. Now we don't have to drive to Raleigh when we want some good 'ol down home pork! Thank you for the new location!

My husband and I were in downtown Raleigh, and were unfamiliar witht he city. We happened upon the Pit were pleasantly surprised. The food was quite good and the meal prices were fair. Though the beer prices were a bit high. Great atmosphere.

My husband, a friend and decided to stop for lunch last Saturday, July 19 on the way back from he beach. My husband called about 11:30A to try and make a reservation for 1:15. We were told there were no more reservations available and the wait would be 45 minutes to an hour. Well, I went on Open Table and... More

Make a reservation! It made our dinner start off on a wonderful note. The service was amazing and the food was outstanding! Best BBQ I have had! The only con was the parking situation. Be prepared to pay$$$ Even with that being said we could go back again!!

We never seem to be impressed with The Pit. It usually seems "just OK" and we can almost always find fault with this otherwise popular dining establishment. The last visit included bland Brunswick stew, but the catfish, collards, and bruschetta were tasty. Our server was also bland and so-so, so that kind of put a damper on the evening. Parking... More

The Pit was recommended by Linda Sheridan at our hotel Hampton Inn & Suites Brier Creek. We had 8:15 reservations that was the earliest we could get. We were not disappointed. We ordered baby back ribs, fried chicken and fried catfish dinners they were great. The kids ordered Mac Ann cheese and loved it. We had the best collards I... More
