Best BBQ in Raleigh

This is the fanciest BBQ place I have ever enjoyed. The Q is well prepared and good if you like Eastern NC BBQ. French fries are real. Ribs and chickin are good. Short but decent craft draft beer menu that changes. Parking is tough especially at lunch.

I did love this place when it openned, but I've since grown to dislike it. If you are visiting from out of town, maybe give it a shot, but bbq was never meant to be pretentious. If you want authentic Carolina BBQ, go to Cooper's right down the street. The quality of food at the Pit is good, it's just... More

Family and friends, 22 total, had lunch at the Pit and were happy with the food and amazed at the service for such a large group. The food was excellent and came out of the kitchen quickly. Our servers were friendly and attentive.

I was looking for a BBQ joint and everyone mentioned the Pit, so I gave it a whirl with a few friends. The best way to describe it is...a restaurant of the Applebees variety that serves a little BBQ. The brisket was served as a whole piece of beef about a third of which was all fat. The pork had... More

My wife and I took our 4 year daughter and my father in law to The Pit on a recent weeknight. We booked a reservation through Open Table but not sure we needed it as it wasn't full. But they had our table waiting for us a seated us right away. They were very welcoming to our daughter which as... More

My boyfriend and I ate here over the weekend, and it was amazing! The service was great from beginning to end. Forgot our severs name, but she was tall with a long braid in her hair. So sweet! (Thank you!) :) Food was really good too. We started with the cornbread and it was perfect. We both had pulled pork... More

I saw this place on Man v. Food and it seemed like it was one of the best BBQ places in the region. Let me just say, Texas BBQ is 100 times better after eating this. It is expensive and the food was not as good as I expected. The hush puppies were alright, and so was the fried okra.... More

Not perfect, but otherwise, excellent BBQ and a good experience all around. The prices and selection are good. After the free hush puppies and biscuits and our appetizers, it was pretty hard to finish our main courses. While this was one of the best tasting BBQs that we've had in a while, the pulled pork was slightly dry and the... More

The main theme is bbq as the name implies. I have eaten there several times and taken friends there. Each time the bbq has been excellent and you have a choice of many different sides. With the ample choice of sides, there certainly something to satisfy everyone. The bbq baked beans are different and my favorite. I found the staff... More
