My wife and I have been here several times for lunch and a brew. We have never been disappointed. We are amazed at the quality of food that comes out of the kitchen. This is a great place to take visitors when they are in the area or a great place to have a wonderful meal for those of us... More

Love the Toe River Cafe and Blind Squirrel Brewery. I definitely recommend searching out this hidden treasure. This was our second visit. Today we brought other members of our family. We started off in the newly added bar/tasting room that was nicely done. We did a beer tasting - 3 sample flights - 12 different beers - nice varied selection... More

Tucked away in beautiful Plumtree NC, this restaurant and brewery is a real gem. We had hiked a portion of the Appalachian Trail nearby and dropped by the lodge for lunch. The menu wasnt extensive but our group raved about the quality and taste of each selection. Great sandwiches and remarkable beers! Try a tasting flight to get a sampling... More

Had a pretty negative experience here. Stay in one of the rooms off the general store. The bathroom is shoe horned into the tiniest of closets, smells horrid, and hardly flushes. Also, the outside street light shine right in through the blindless windows. This bed was festooned with doillies and pillows. It was like staying at middle class civil war... More

We were told about Toe River by friends and even though it was quite a drive from Blowing Rock, it was worth the trip. Incredible brunch and friendly service. Highly recommend!

The Toe River Lodge was recommended to us as an "outstanding restaurant". As we approached at noon, we said "no doubt".The items on the traditional Thanksgiving buffet puts the home cooking that we all grew up with in the dim past. Better than most of us really had. Added to the buffet were great dessert and homemade. Wines and brews... More

Spent the weekend at the lodge and enjoyed every second of our time. The hosts were more than accomidating and went out of thier way to make us feel right at home. If you get the chance to visit these guys, plan to stay, and enjoy everything they have to offer. Also make sure to try the nut brown ale... More

We happened in on The Toe River Lodge around 745 pm a few weeks ago. I was out showing some of friends around Avery County. A friend suggested we should go to the Toe River Lodge since we were close. I had heard of the place because of the brewery, but had never been. We looked at the door and... More

We were very impressed with the friendly staff and how welcoming was our experience as soon as we arrived to check in. By the time that we had to leave we were feeling more like family then a guest. I can't wait until next May so we can spend another weekend here. Cleveland and Dave helped us with the zip... More
