We enjoyed a round of drinks next to the fireplace in the late afternoon.

Sitting by the fireplace, enjoying our drinks when our waitress surprised us with a silver tray of chocolate truffles resting on a chocolate greeting of Happy Birthday for our friend Tom! Now that went very well with our red wine and spirits!

This is our second year spending it at the Pinehurst Resort and eating their incredible food over New Years Eve. Everything is First Class all the way and the food and the room is clean and worth every penny spent! If your looking for a great Beach Band the Band of OZ definitely delivers. Hats of to Pinehurst and will... More

My wife and I chose The 1985 Grille for our 39th wedding anniversary celebration because this restaurant is considered tops in the Pinehurst-Southern Pines area. The restaurant did not disappoint us. The attentiveness of the maitre d' and other wait staff was exceptional. They were engaging, interested and informative. They where knowledgable about the menu and the wines on the... More

Located in the Holly Inn, the 1895 Room (or Grill) is pitched at the high end of the dining experiences available in Pinehurst Village. As we had had our fill of the grand buffet breakfasts and Thanksgiving feasts at the Carolina, we chose to take the shuttle over to the Village for what we expected to be another grand meal.... I surprised my husband with a birthday dinner here and he was impressed. He had a great steak and I had the seafood special and both meals were excellent. The chocolate dessert is a must have and suggest ordering it - they even wrote "Happy Birthday" on the plate. Although the service wasn't the best - the food was great... More

We went to this restaurant in Pinehurst for my parent's 70 wedding anniversary for something special and it did not disappoint. The service was excellent and the meals were all very good. We had the filet, rack of lamb, pork chop & a seafood special served in a tomato broth. They were all sublime. The atmosphere is very romantic and... More

Closing out my first trip to Pinehurst and almost everything has been perfect. I'll definitely be back. But one restaurant I'll definitely avoid on my next trip is the 1895 Grille. Wow. Talk about disappointing service. It might be the worst restaurant service I've ever experienced. I've worked in restaurants so I understand how service can be disrupted. However, I've... More

We had reservations for a romantic anniversary dinner and were seated next to a family with two children in a nearly empty restaurant. It was in the 50's outside but the air conditioning was blowing on high speed right out of the wall at my shoulders. We had to request menus to place over the grates to cut down on... More

Good food, atmosphere, service. The menu is limited and it is a bit pricy. This is closer to fine dining rather than casual. Not really where you go after a round of golf

This was my second visit to Pinehurst and the 1895 Room. The food, along with the service was fantastic! Tracey, Alex and Michael(manager), are so friendly and also quite accommodating. The amuse-bouche each night was exceptional. Tuna two ways...still thinking how good it was.Not one complaint with any meal. And their desserts...chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate!! Don't pass on dessert!... More
