We visit The Bean quite often and our kids love it there. The morning crowd is a chatty, older crowd. Afternoons are generally quiet. The view from the porch over the town dock and harbor are just lovely. They have good coffee, a wide variety of cold and hot drinks, great smoothies and chocolate drinks, baked goods, and wonderful MASSIVE... More

They also have ice cream, cookies, etc. Don't be in a hurry. It's very busy in the morning and only one person on duty

It is a very small cozy atmosphere. I was very pleased with the coffee, and the staff is delightful! I look foreword to returning soon!

The food is good, the ice cream is great. Coffee is fresh and the kids love the shakes and smoothies. The lines are LONG. I love sitting outside on the porch. It is a family must every visit.

Best coffee and muffins Oriental! Outside front porch for waterfront setting. Peaceful. I love watching the sailboats come and go.

Great town meeting place with good coffee and bagels. Not quite enough cream cheese for my husband though. Nice setting on the harbor. Very welcoming.

We were hot and wishing we could have something cool and tasty. As we rounded the corner on our bikes, we discovered The Bean. Friendly staff. Terrific ice cream. We were tempted by the coffee concoctions and will try those next time.

While up in Oriental, I was in need for some good coffee. This place was recommended to me by a local and it was perfect. The food menu is basic (bagel with cream cheese) but the coffee was great, the staff were friendly and the view was gorgeous. I would definitely stop here while staying in town or passing through.

Number two???? Would you rate Starbucks the number Two resturant in a town, or Duncan Donuts? They buy their bagels from Carolina Bagels, (which are awesome fresh at Carolina bagels) two days ago. So they have a view, so does Lou Mack Park. Their coffee is still weak and the cream cheese tastes like school paste. Makes me think folks... More
