We've been coming to the Pony for twenty years and are always satisfied. The pony potatoes are the bomb!

Coffee, eggs, & "pony potatoes" is all you need to know. This place is an Ocracoke staple, & is the perfect place for a hearty, no-frills breakfast. They serve dinner too-- but I usually go for breakfast.

We went to Pony Island at the recommendation of a local fisherman. According to reviews, this place has a great breakfast, but I wouldn't say the same for dinner. While the complimentary hush puppies are pretty good, that was really the only thing we enjoyed. It started off rocky, as there was an incredibly difficult language barrier between us and... More

We visited Ocracoke on a busy June weekend and stopped into Pony Island for a quick and cheap breakfast at about 9:30 am on a Saturday (they started to get really busy around 10 am). They have a pretty extensive breakfast menu, great selection, and the prices are very reasonable! Service is great and very friendly, and we got our... More

Pony Island Restaurant is obviously popular, as there was a line when we got there, but we were served fairly quickly. There is a nice variety on the menu for home-cooked breakfast, and the coffee is good. A nice bonus is the bike rentals at the office - probably the cheapest option on the island, for the same kind of... More

We often go here for breakfast. In May we took a table outside just to get served faster and the patio out back is a hidden secret. So delightful out there. If not too hot, eat out there. In June we ate inside. Love the biscuits. If you order a biscuit sandwich, you get two biscuits, so you might want... More

We visited on our last morning on Ocracoke and shared the restaurant with lots of locals. Fast and pleasant service. We shared the salsa eggs and a stack of hot cakes. Very good.

Ate there for bfast on 618/14 at around 9:00am, will say they was very busy but we were sat down ASAP and the waitress was very good. She had tables inside and out and I never ran out of coffee or water. The food was very tasty and a very good value. Thanks Pony Island please keep it up

Location was perfect, right by Pony Island Hotel (see separate review) service was great, ample menu, food was served quickly and hot and the prices were great. Would eat here again and also recommend to friends.
