Very good food, Very good service, Fun decor. We choose to eat at Howard's each year because of a very good previous experience. This year we actually stopped at Howard's more than 80% of the time for our late day meal. The servers were prompt and courteous, the food yummy. Howard's is always a pleasure

Visited Ocracoke Island today with the family and ate here. Food was really good and the service too! Try it if you visit the island.

We had read reviews of Howard's Pub and it certainly looked like the place to be when we went past. It was, in fact, crowded which was not a deterrent to us necessarily. We were on vacation and we never mind having a drink while waiting. We were seated more quickly than we had been told - great! Our waiter... More

We really enjoyed the fried shrimp and scallops. Thought my son made a mistake ordering the ribs but they were very good too. Really enjoyed the corn on the cob. Key lime pie is awesome.

First off, was Howard's always this pricey? A simple cheeseburger (nothing fancy, literally burger and cheese) with fries runs $11, and a kid's hotdog is $8. Not fine dining prices, sure, but Howard's is also a loooong way from fine dining. Ordered my burger medium, it was charred beyond well-done. I obviously barely touched my meal as I wasn't feeling... Tried it today on my day trip to Ocracoke. Sat at the bar; incredible beer selection, the steamed shrimp and mussels were very good. We really should have stopped there... pulled pork sandwich was cold and serve on an untoasted hamburger bun... great place to hang out at the bar; great bartenders. Food except for the steamers.... ehh, not so... More

When we arrived in Okracoke, it was storming. We passed Howard's on the way to our B&B, checked in, unloaded and went for lunch. I was pleasantly surprised that they had gluten free beer! World Cup was on tv, the service was fast and friendly, and the food was really good. So good that we went back that night for... More

For those who remember the Howard's of days past you may be disappointed with the commercialization of this island staple. Wish I had better things to say because Howard's has real Ocracoke history and could be so much more than an "island Chili's".

This is a classic sports bar-- TV for watching the game, tons of beer selections (draft & bottle), standard bar food (mozzarella sticks, burgers, fries; plus some local specials like chowder, crabcakes, & North Carolina oysters), and license plates & school flags lining the bar. The great thing: they have a generator so it's open even when the power goes... More

This place is awesome! They have an enormous outdoor seating area with multiple TVs. They can easily accommodate very large parties. The food is fantastic and fresh. I had the Teriyaki Tuna Sandwich. The key lime mustard sauce was fantastic. Our server was outstanding. He had a party of 16 to deal with but managed us all very well. Stayed... More
