Stopped here recently and had a quick dinner. Food was quite tasty though I was still hungry after cleaning the plate. Food was fine, beer was good... but I will not return to eat at the same late dinner time. The season too is late, and many have left... I can only imagine how Twain would have applied his palette... We looked and looked for crab legs, not realizing that they were on Howard's raw menu! They were great! Loved it! Not to mention the scallops! Oh my god they were fantastic! Don't forget to go to Howard's!

Wanted to go to a different restaurant but did not open until 5pm. Gave this one a shot. Crab legs and shrimp good. The pita for the hummus was very greasy. The grilled Mahi for the pub salad was drowning in butter. Some things can be cooked healthy for crying out loud.

Unless you want a beer that you can't get anywhere else (barring Zillies) don't go here. We have been going to Ocracoke for years. Our first year, we thought Howard's was the place to go. Back then, it probably was. We didn't know any better. We keep trying to enjoy the experience at Howard's but every year it gets worse.... More

We stopped here to eat while we were on out Hatteras Tour. Our guide suggested the crab cake sandwich which we both had. Our sandwiches were excellent along with the service. We also enjoyed the atmosphere.

My wife and I were on vacation and on Ocracoke Island for the day and we stopped in Howard's and were not disappointed. The food, drinks and service were excellent. A perfect break in the day.

The beer and liquor prices here are outrageous, but the food we ate was good. My boyfriend refused to leave the island without eating some raw oysters, and he got them here. They were some of the tastiest he's ever had and he probably could've downed a couple dozen more. I only got the hummus with pita chips, but it... More

The place looked great, but after ordering the tuna bites immediately regretted ordering a tina sandwich. The tuna bites looked discolored and we're underwhelming. The tuna sandwich. Ew. It did not taste fresh and immediately had me sick in the restroom. Never again.

Both times we ate here, we had delicious seafood chowder which was most reminiscent of RI clam chowder with clear broth, potatoes, onions. Our seafood was delicate and with lots of flavor. This sits right on Rt. 12 and has oodles of seaside atmosphere with a view that is unmatched.

I have stopped by Howard's Pub each time I've visited Ocracoke, but this time I was pretty shocked and the total of my bill for me and my wife. They have gotten pretty pricey and now add 17% gratuity to the check regardless. The food is OK, but I'm afraid they've priced themselves out of the running for me. I... More
