Needless to say the oysters on a half shell were sub-par and three of them had oyster crabs (which I think is very distasteful). My boyfriend ordered the Philly steak egg rolls ( obviously from frozen) defiantly over cooked. Outside of all the egg rolls where hard and dark brown. When you bit into it, the outside crumbled off as... More

We had Philly cheese steak egg rolls and crab cake sandwiches, everything was great including the atmosphere.

We went with a group of for and started with raw oysters. This was the first time I'd ever had a raw oyster and I think I am now spoiled. My fiancée had a burger that she enjoyed. My brother-in-law and myself ate the tuna caught locally. We both ordered it extra-rare and was seared perfectly. The slaw and fries... More

This place looks like a dump and the name does not make you think family restaurant. Very casual atmosphere. Laid back but really good food. Have had a great crab cake there before. This time I had a lunch special; fresh flounder basket. It was the best flounder I have ever had. Went back and got a take out the... More

About the only place on the island besides oinc's ( also same owner) to get bbq and it doesn't disappoint! Family friendly, they even have paper kids menus and crayons so the kids can be occupied. They serve Carolina sauce as well as "Yankee" sauce. The later a normal bbq sauce. They also do racks of baby back ribs which... More

We enjoyed a soft shell crab sandwich, she crab soup and fried shrimp. Everything was fresh and delicious. Do not go there expecting a five-star atmosphere, however.

We got there around 5:00 pm ...not crowded. We both got fried platters that had a crab cake. The crab cake was very good along with the flounder, shrimp and oysters. The shrimp and oysters were decent size unlike some places I've been. Everything was seasoned well and very flavorful. Our server was pleasant and made sure we were OK. They... More

The food was great and the entertainment better. Barefoot Wade is an amazing musician and singer. The staff was very attentive. This restaurant is a short stroll from Pam's Pelican.

We travel to Ocracoke twice a year and figured we would give the Topless Oyster one more try. On another occasion it had smelled like mildew and beer, so we left, but we wanted to see if there were any improvements. Order the fried fish and sauteed fish sandwiches (flounder). My wife's fish (fried) was not cooked completely and mine... More

Granted there was an ice/snow storm on the island. There were 8 of us eating. The place was NOT busy. The bartender/waitress was disinterested. She brought the wrong food, then argued with us about what we ordered. She brought dinners for appetizers. Just overall an awful experience! If I lived here I would not go back. However, the ones who... More
