We arrived to Ocracoke in the rain and chose this place based on other good reviews. Had margaritas that were just okay, but the food and service were great. We ordered clam chowder and they gave us a free taste of Brunswick Stew, a southern favorite, but unfamiliar to us. It tasted great, as did the broth-style chowder. My daughter... More

This place is AMAZING!!!! We stopped in mainly because they were the ONLY place OPEN for lunch on the island. With a group of 11, including 4 hungry kids, we were leery of a sports pub, but happy to see an "Open" sign. We were SO GLAD that it WAS the only place open!! The food was EXCELLENT!!!! The service... More

Stopped on a whim for lunch while visiting the island. Drove by a few packed restaurants on the way through, picked Gaffer's because we were hungry and this place wasn't packed. So glad we stopped. Excellent service... Burgers, fresh fish sandwiches, onion rings and Bloody Marys too... All Excellent. A must stop if you are looking for a good meal... More

We picked this pub on a whim; it had a shade tree in the parking lot so the pets would be comfortable. So glad we did. My husband ordered the Country Club, a ham club sandwich and it was a great sandwich. I saw an Oyster Po'boy on the menu, asked if they could make it with shrimp instead. They... More

Country little bar on the island. Bartenders were very attentive, good place to watch a game. Had a bloody mary bar that allowed you to make your own.

We spent a rainy afternoon in this bar and had the best time. Beer was cold and, for the area, reasonably priced. The fish tacos were mild and the chicken wings with Rusty's sauce were messy but awesome. Thanks so much to James, Max and Emily for great service, conversation and a fun afternoon!

We have been renting cottages on Ocracoke Island twenty-five years. We've watched restaurants come, change hands, and go. There is a family owned and operated restaurant associated with a motel that we've been enjoying breakfast forever. The staff is usually nice, and the food is consistent, but the average-ness of that restaurant finally forced a look to another breakfast spot... More

We arrived on the last ferry from Cedar island. No Motel - no food in our bellies. Just caught the Desk clerk at Pony Island motel as she was leaving and got a room. She recommended the only place still serving food at 9:30 that night GAFFER'S We not only had a late night dinner that was way beyond expectations... More
