Great food

Since Ocracoke village is a small place a good restaurant is a must. Dajio does breakfast, lunch, shrimp boil, and dinner. Both inside and outside seating. Everything is prepared fresh. Service can be a little chaotic but in s strange way it adds to the charm. Although I indicated only... read more

We had dinner here mid-week so it wasn't crowded. Ambiance was fair: it was a bit dark inside and the music was a bit loud and tables a bit close--so could hear other's conversations. Service was friendly and fast. Greeted quickly and got seats easily (again, mid-week so it wasn't crowded and we arrived around 8:00 PM). Server was equally... More

We came for an early lunch in this lovely garden. Good salads. Jasmin bushes (see photo). Liked our waiter..professional and friendly. Note that you have to find hostess inside to be seated in the garden.

Dajio serves breakfast lunch and dinner. We were here at breakfast and it was packed! Food was good, plentiful, served hot, reasonable price. We did not make it in for Shrimp Hour from #:00 to 5:00 because we were doing other things but a half lb of shrimp for $6.95 is a pretty good price. Excellent patio seating with a... More

We visited Ocracoke with some friends and broke one of our vacations rules and had a second meal at Dajio. We went back because the food, service and the atmosphere were excellent. Courtney was our server both nights and did an excellent job. Hope to get back later in the year and will definitely have Dajio on our list of... More

Best restaurant on the island, hands-down. Really cool bar area with live music on some nights, lovely outside restaurant with a brilliant menu which caters for Gluten Free dietary Requirements with staff who were more than happy to answer questions about the dishes ingredients. Massive portions of food which we couldn't eat so the waitress boxed it for us with... More

Unfortunately, two out of four guests didn't appreciate their meals. They felt the same way about breakfast the next morning. I didn't. I loved my breakfast because I like to eat meals I don't make at home and it was a very good seafood omelette. Maybe we were a little soon into the season. The ambiance is great inside and... More

This was our big splurge and well worth it. Everything was wonderful - our appetizer, entrees, drinks and desserts. Its pricy but well worth it. Their menu has a lot of interesting selections, which intrigued me as a foodie, but concerned my husband as a more conservative eater. However, he really enjoyed a crab/shrimp/sausage dip that he didn't think would... More

We enjoyed a lovely lunch at Dajio, our third time eating there. I had delicious fish tacos. The slaw served with the tacos was fair, but that may just be that it's not my taste. It was a little vinegary and limp for me. The setting is very nice. We ate inside because it was a cool, rainy day. One... More

The six of us enjoyed a wonderful dinner here while on Ocracoke. The setting could not have been more pleasant, as we sat outdoors in a pretty little courtyard. The service was impeccable; the bread basket contained some awesome cornbread. Wine selection was good. Food arrived promptly and was quite pleasant. Top ratings went out to their shrimp, fish of...
