Treats from the Sea

What a great cozy little place! You must have reservations with a party of six as they are limited! But the host made it happen for us! Our Calamari was perfect, not overcooked! All of the seafood plates we ordered was fresh with perfect sides!

Our entire family loves this place. It's conveniently located near the silver lake docks so lots to see/visit/shop nearby after your meal. My kids love the breakfast especially the French Toast and fresh fruit. My wife and I like the omelets made to order. I had the veggie with asparagus. Breakfast here will begin your day in a filling and... More

We ate breakfast here and while a bit expensive it was excellent. The Creme Brulee french toast was a pretty small portion but delicious. The apple pancakes were the best and the omelette with goat cheese was excellent. The side of home potatoes were the best I've had. A great mix of white, sweet and purple potatoes crispy and not... Some of it was awesome, some could be better. The wood fired oyster appetizer was wonderful! Vegan tacos were good, maybe a little bland. The batter on the fried flounder was too salty. They were really careful and accommodating about our daughter's food allergies. The atmosphere was really nice, it's in a cute old house with an outdoor seating area.... More

My family and I were staying in Buxton. The others were fishing so I decided to take our dog, Maggie, to Ocracoke. She was a little stressed out by the ferry ride, so I asked about restaurants that would allow dogs so she could rest. Dajio was recommended as having more shade than the others. We arrived for their late... More

We ordered Grilled Oysters which were delicious. They were VERY spicy and we had to scrape the bruschetta, which was put on top of the oysters, aside. We followed it up with fish tacos. Also very good but once again the heat was strong. Not sure if it was our mouths still singing but by then we had drunk copious... More

We had an excellent dinner at Dajio's. The seafood was fresh and tasty. Service was prompt. We stopped back again for lunch and were equally pleased. I had a salad and my husband had a hamburger.

I've never had clam chowder with a broth base and wild mushrooms, but this exceeded my expectations! If you love mushrooms, this is the soup for you! Also had a fantastic Fried Green Tomato sandwich! Definitely recommend as a must eat restaurant on the island!

Five friends traveling together looking for a pleasant dining experience on the island. We weren't disappointed. Our waitress, Denise, was fantastic. She was attentive without being intrusive and was very informative in helping us make menu selections. Clam chowder and Soda Fried Calamari appetizers were a wonderful start to our meal. One of my friends and I split the fried... More
