The food is somewhere between fair to good & most should be satisfied. It really isn't too bad, just not particularly good. Service seems to be consistently very good. The attraction is the views of the waterway & island - this is prime real estate. It has an enclosed restaurant & an upper deck with umbrellas. Prices on the high... More

An expensive, rather plain menu..filled with items fresh off the frozen food truck, great views, fun atmosphere, roof top bar and waterside setting make happy hour happy

Very fresh...terrific shrimp, crab cakes, and mahi mahi. Small inside, but you are able to takeout and adjourn to the upper deck and eat.

We visited there for the first time this year. We were the first ones at the restaurant when it opened and had to wait to be seated because the staff were busy playing cards in the dining room. Terrible seafood, very overpriced and not very friendly service. We will for sure not be going back here.

Many vacationers dine on their visit to Ocean Isle Beach, as it is still on the island, has a nice rooftop area, and contains a nice view of the intracostal waterway. However, the inside is nothing special. There are daily alcohol specials. I had the flounder and slaw, and while it was good, it wasn't WOW. The restaurant did a... More

The Giggling Mackerel has a lot of things going for it. The highest rooftop deck on OIB. An air-conditioned option on the main floor (2nd level above ground). Right on the intercoastal with slips, gas, jet ski & boat rentals right there as well as chartered fishing boats located within the same building. It's not an ocean view, but few... More

The BLT my daughter got had bacon fat no bacon. I had a Rueben and slaw and the Rueben was salty and the slaw was dry. We waited 25 minutes for our meal and were the only ones there. Their ranking of 20th out of 32 is very generous

Ordered tuna salad sandwich. It was meh. The onion rings were the only good thing. The waitress spent more time chatting at the bar to the other waitresses instead of looking after her tables.

I was searching for a spot on the water to have lunch near Ocean Isle Beach. The Giggling Mackerel is right at the foot of the bridge, so I decided to check it out. I can't say it was great, but it certainly wasn't bad. We sat upstairs and it did have a water view, but it wasn't a picturesque... More

We met friends there after 9pm on a Thursday. We had already eaten so we just sat at a table in the rooftop bar and had drinks. My wife and I had frozen margaritas and the other couple had a daiquiri and piña colada. All very good. Nice place to unwind.
