Best food of our whole trip. Waitresses were awesome. Grannys home cooking. building is dated. But clean. inspection score was 95.5 but still the best greasy spoon yet.

Lower than average tasting food, long wait for food after we were seated. I will not go back again. Biscuits were small, hash browns were awful, pancakes tasteless. Hard to hear yourself think it's so loud in there.

You wait a verrryyy long time to get your food and then the food is just so-so. The place is very busy at breakfast and I haven't the slightest idea why. Oak Island Restaurant we found has the best breakfast on the island, NOT Russells.

One of two breakfast joints on the island, Russell's is a very friendly place with a quick turnover for locals and tourists alike. There's always something new for the daily specials with a fine sampling of grits, pork steak, collard greens, pickled beets, steamed cabbage, mac 'n cheese and more great southern food. Can't go wrong.

Russells has good traditional breakfast fare (I am partial to them because they have corned beef hash on the menu). We were seated after a brief wait. The place is small and seating is limited. Our coffee cups were kept filled, our food prepared and served quickly and the staff all seemed quite friendly.

Food was very good, except our hashbrowns, they were cold. :( We were very happy with the prices. Waitress was super nice! Building was a bit run down. Windows were dirty and we had to fight off the flies. But overall, Russell's is a decent restaurant. Atmosphere is very laid back, nothing fancy. They close at 2:00.

Pros: Really fast service, Meals & drinks for 5 adults = $31.50. That's Cheap! FYI: No turkey bacon & no credit cards. A bit rough around the edges but clean by diner standards. Family went for breakfast on Sunday at 9 am. Probably the worst time to go. There was a wait but with fast service, we were out the... More

I don't get people who post terrible reviews of places like this. My wife loved her biscuits and gravy while I enjoyed pecan pancakes. It was good breakfast food at a reasonable price. And if you get there late in the morning, expect a long line.

This place is great for home cooked food. Locals eat there so that tells you something. Normally a line esp. for breakfast.
