Stopped by Baker's Kitchen for breakfast while visiting New Bern. We had settled on Baker's Kitchen before we left home, but if we hadn't the aroma from the street would have drawn us in. Fresh made pastries, pancakes and french toast with home made butter syrup made the choice hard. Everyone ordered a different breakfast and from the look on... More

Great breakfast place, the grilled cinnamon buns are to die for as is the bacon; it is thick and wonderfully smoked. The sausage gravy was lacking a bit in flavor, a touch on the bland side.

My wife and I stopped here for breakfast and I must say, for an old building it is well maintained and very clean! The service for us was fantastic with our server being polite and efficient. The food was served in a reasonable amount of time considering how busy they were (a Saturday morning) and was hot. We thought the... More

Went in for lunch while transiting US 70. Not far off the road. Nicely decorated high ceiling restaurant in an old building. At 12:30 on a Thursday it was busy but we were seated immediately. The baked goofs going by looked incredible. We both had salads: spinach and a chefs salad with blue cheese. Both nicely prepared and quite filling.... More

Visited the Baker's Kitchen due to the reviews here. It was a little crowded Sunday morning with about a 20-25 minute wait. But the food was good and the prices were okay. Maybe a little high. I would have given it $$$ not $$$$ as to value. We also had lunch there on a different day and that was good... More

I went to Baker's Kitchen for the first time, for a farewell luncheon. I must say, this was a great pick. It has an old school look, with a new school feeling. It serves breakfast and lunch at the same time and I had a bacon cheeseburger with fried okra. Though I was running late for the luncheon, I was... More

We stopped in for dinner and our table had the meatloaf, grilled salmon and baker's club. The food was good but our waitress was not very attentive. She brought our water but not the coffee and forgot some of the side dishes. The other waiters were happy to fill in and refill our water glasses & coffee or brought what... More

It's been a few months since we came to this restaurant, but figured we would give it another chance. Not sure what happened but the food just isn't the same. Nothing spectacular, and food is average at best.

My husband and I came to New Bern by boat on a Thursday afternoon. Capt Tim at the Marina suggested we try your breaksfast. He said it was the best in town. How right he was! Tasty Hot food, helpful pleasant waitstaff, and comfortable seating. We were seated immediately. Within minutes our waitress had our orders and brought our teas.... More
