We have never been disappointed with the food or drinks at the Chelsea. This visit was no exception. My husband made reservations for us to dine here for our anniversary. Food was excellent and service was very good. You have to try the bacon wrapped scallops!!!!! I did not give this a five star rating because we had to wait... More

We were told this place served the best shrimp and grits anywhere. Since I am a huge shrimp and grits fan, and have eaten them lots of places, I was a real skeptic. I must admit, these were absolutely delicious. Plenty of large shrimp, fresh mushrooms, onions, andouille sausage sliced quite thin, and "the grits! They were great, smooth and... More

The tables had white table clothes and great ambience. The restaurant is downtown and in an old home. The windows were nice to sit by and enjoy a quiet meal.

I have been to the Chelsea in downtown New Bern several times and I always feel the same when I leave. It's okay, but it's not somewhere I would ever feel the need to dine at again. If you gave me the choice of my top 25 places for dinner in Eastern North Carolina, it would never make the list.... More

There were so many great items on the menu that I didn't really want to go with the shrimp & grits since I've had it several times at other restaurants. I shared this with my server who confidently told me "You haven't had OUR shrimp & grits." He was right. It was a fantastic choice. I love a menu that... More

I love their fried green tomato appetizer. I get it every single time I go. I just wish they had more vegetarian options.

Having a late dinner we shared and appetizer and an entree.. and found them both fabulous. Scallops and Grits we spectacular.... The Shrimp was done perfectly... not over done like is often the case. Very comfortable, reasonable and nice wines b y the glass.

The Chelsea has some excellent food. I had some shrimp and grits. I definitely enjoyed the dish. And will return to the restaurant next time we are in New Bern.

Traveling with a family of 9. Made a reservation for 6:30 but arrived an hour early and they welcomed us in with no problem. We are from the north and never tried the shrimp & grits appetizer, so we ordered two. We all loved it. All of the meals were delicious with large portions. The waiter was attentive and very... More
