Upscale decor. Really Good food. Personable wait staff. My brother's favorite restaurant in New Bern. I can see why.

We stopped in for lunch in December. Nicely decorated for Christmas. I had grilled meatloaf, which was a generous portion and very good. Our waiter was professional but friendly and humorous. Also had a cheese dip (excellent) and their homemade potato chips (so so) They also have a nice selection of specialty cocktails and drinks. Would highly recommend

Pleasant dining spot for lunch or dinner. Lots of diversity in the menu. Waitstaff is helpful. Not very noisy and location is great.

The food was exceptionally delicious. Our party got the Shrimp and Grits and the Butter BBQ chicken breast. We were sold on the first bite! Nice atmosphere and professional, friendly staff. Thank you!

I was looking forward to the chicken wrap I once got here, wonderful with sweet and sour sauce on it. They didn't have it. We ordered burgers instead, they were a little dry. Just a so, so visit to the Chelsea this time.

We tried shrimp and grits, oysters and grits and crab cakes. All were very good, but the crab cakes stood out, as they were all crab meat.

We love The Chelsea, they never disappoint, actually had my wedding reception there and everyone loved the food, staff and location. The decor is rather plain, with plywood booths downstairs, but the food makes up for every shortfall. For lunch, dinner or a major event, go to The Chelsea, they are always great!

This is a must have dish when in the Down East area of North Carolina. From Wilmington, NC to Elizabeth City, NC--New Bern, NC is half-way in between--shrimp and grits is the classic meal. Chelsea's cheesy grits contained a fresh assortment of saluted shrimp, sausage, mushrooms, tomatoes on a dinner sized portion of stone ground grits. Just delicious. Just ask... More

Best Shrimp and Grits in town! But all of the food is delicious. Its a New Bern classic. Been here for lunch and dinner, with large and small groups. Wait staff is always good.

Enjoyed a terrific meal at Chelsea's Friday night. In a warm festive atmosphere we experienced excellent service and meals that rival anything that we have had on previous visits to the area. Chelsea's has become my go to spot in New Bern.
