Always great food

Fried green tomatoes are always my favorite but I had not been here in several years and was worried they might not be as good as I remembered. Ofcourse they were great as was the oysters and grits. We met the chef and it was a very fun evening .

Quick review this time. Went with fam and friends to the Chelsea. Got the brisket sandwich, but was a little skeptical since the place was not a bbq joint. Pleasantly surprised. ...best brisket I have had! All at our table loved their meals. Well done.

We figured to find some adequate food and drink during our recent trip to New Bern, but did not expect to enjoy one of our more memorable dining experiences at the Chelsea. On a tip from a friend we tried the Shrimp and Grits and were very impressed. The staff made us feel right at home, and the atmosphere was... More

Have been to this restaurant several times (for lunch and dinner) and each time it never fails to deliver. The atmosphere is an old converted building so it has some rustic charm but the table cloths and professionalism of the staff brings things up a notch. The menu offers a little something for every palette and price range and even... More

I had the steak and fried oysters. The steak was tough and I couldn't eat it but everything else was incredibly delicious and the service was wonderful. Also, the atmosphere was amazing.

My wife and I went here for Valentine's Day and we also had two sister in laws with us. My wife ordered the new your strip and fried oysters at a price of $29 and only got three oysters. My wife and in-laws really enjoyed the food. I had the new York strip with grilled shrimp. The steak was thick... More

My husband and I decided to visit New Bern on a beautiful February weekend recently to enjoy the sites, shops and dine at the Chelsea for lunch. The restaurant is located in the main downtown area within walking distance of some wonderful shops and lots of history. We had heard that the restaurant was so popular that they usually had... I've been coming to New Bern for nearly 20 years for work and this place is a tried and true favorite of mine. Creative cooking, some nice touches of southern flavors and a cool vibe make this place a go to for me every time I swing through town. I had a great shrimp and red eye pea dish served... More

My wife were in New Bern and we wanted a great lunch. First off, the ambiance is awesome. The servers are fantastic and the prices are right but that wasn't the best part. The food is awesome:) I had the creamy crab soup and it by far was the best soup I have ever had! My wife got the crab... More
