Traveling with a family of 9. Made a reservation for 6:30 but arrived an hour early and they welcomed us in with no problem. We are from the north and never tried the shrimp & grits appetizer, so we ordered two. We all loved it. All of the meals were delicious with large portions. The waiter was attentive and very... More

The food was absolutely delicious...I had shrimp and grits that are to die for...the mashed potatoes were excellent. The chocolate cheesecake was wonderful. I can think of no criticism. The ambience was great as well. Totally great experience

After reading several great reviews about The Chelsea, we decided to make a reservation for dinner on a recent business trip to New Bern. The restaurant has two levels: the lower level for more casual dining and the upper for what one would assume was more fine dining. We were asked to follow the hostess up the staircase. Let it... Superb menu. Normally I find 3 or 4 items that I really like on a menu, with the rest just sounding okay. Here, I could happily have sampled almost everything. The special coconut-crusted grouper was superb. Very friendly staff too. I'll be back there during this trip.

Was in New Bern for the first time, on business. Both the hotel and client recommended The Chelsea as the #1 spot to hit first. Our team of 7 walked over from the hotel - restaurant is easily located. Everyone shared and enjoyed appetizers: pulled pork potato skins, bacon wrapped scallops, fried green tomatoes. I also ordered a starter of... More

We always eat at the Chelsea when we visit New Bern. The food is always good. Best to go when it's "not peak" lunch and/or dinner time. Reasonable prices.
