Dropped in for a light lunch which was surprising delicious (sandwiches and salads), I had a veggie wrap and my husband, a chopped barbecue plate. The piece d'resistance was the homemade ice-cream which was out-standing!!! They serve a plethora of ice-cream creations to fit any palate from a simple cup to a waffle cone and shakes. The decor is what... More

It is always a sad thing when a eating establishment is going down hill and living on it past laurels! Sadly, that is the Cow Café s problem. While the little ones still love the place, the mom's and dad's clearly are losing favor with the beloved eatery. The place is colorful with a cow motif and clearly is designed... More

We drove from our hotel into downtown New Bern just to try this place because of the reviews, and were disappointed to say the least. The menu is standard cafe fare, but the service leaves a lot to be desired and the older woman (owner?) with the Eastern-European accent who works in there was downright rude. The children's play stuff... More

Have enjoyed The Cow Cafe for 27 years! Even held my daughter's 1st birthday at the DownTown location. They were awesome! The ice cream is the best in town. The food is ok but way over priced especially the kids menu. Never had a issue till this pass year with staff. But the last few times we've gone they were... More

Great place for the kids young and old but more for little ones . When we first moved here their Grandpa took them they had a blast in the back while waiting on their food. There are lots of hands on toys .ice cream cones, little tables and small cows horses to ride on .

A great place for a sandwich or a fantastic milk shake or ice cream cones. Grandchildren have to go while in town.

Loved the atmosphere and the staff were helpful and friendly, but the food wasn't anything exceptional. I would return, however, maybe to try the ice cream.

We try to eat ice cream here on every visit to New Bern. It is well worth the trip. They have outside tables where you can enjoy your ice cream while watching the folks walking the downtown area. The ice cream is excellent with many varieties. We highly recommend this place for ice cream (we have never tried anything else... More

Great decor, crowded with people, wide selection of flavors. I was so anxious to dig into my double scoop. Meh, did not meet my expectations. Tasted store bought, nothing special.

We enjoyed a visit to the Cow Cafe one evening where my daughter delighted in sampling several different flavors. The staff is very patient and accommodating. We were so happy with our purple cow and sugared walnut ice cream selections! The cafe is adorable, but it's even better to take your ice cream for a stroll around the adorable neighborhood... More
