Excellent lunch

It may be small and a bit noisy, but the selections are great, service is good, and the food is very good and prepared well. Highly recommended for a business lunch, or delightful dinner. Really the best place to eat in New Bern.

Excellent food, creatively prepared. I had a grouper special that was the best I've had in a very long time. The only down side here is the acoustics, it gets loud and is sometimes difficult to have conversation.

strange evening. WE decided to try this restaurant for a change. When we got there, the hostess said they were booked, but she would check. Miraculously a table became available. When my dining partner asked to have the featured entrée with clams made differently due to a food allergy, the server checked and said yes. What should have been linquini... More

We visited 247 Craven while staying at the Doubletree, a 5 minute walk away. The restaurant has a locavore theme - so I was a bit surprised when our waiter could not tell us offhand where the main ingredients of various dishes were from. That aside, the service was excellent and the food very flavorful. Most of the patrons appeared... More

Our first meal while staying. Incredibly relish, fresh fish with empty eyeballs looking up at me. First whole fish I remember eating and I was pleasantly surprised at the flavor as well as the very fresh vegetables that accompanied this masterpiece.

What a wonderful meal. We stumbled on this place on rainy Thursday. It is not a large restaurant but has a cozy feel. I had the special which was a triggerfish, served over risotto and layered with tomatoes, topped with jalapeños and a tapenade sauce. At $28, with the quality of the dish, and the serving size, I considered this... More

Stopped here for lunch as a look up and drive through the town. Just looking for a high quality meal for the family and there was no disappointment here. The meal was fresh and the wait staff very friendly. It was a small place but appeared to be full bar and service. I shared a grilled pimento cheese sandwich and... More

OMG:) just the nicest meal in every way. Great food, great service (thank you Amanda for making it just the BEST) and great wine:) I am vegetarian and they made me the yummiest meal - my husband the carnivore ate it all and loved it:) This is why they are #1 in New Bern:). Thanks again for a wonderful night!

My husband and I visited 247 Craven with our 6 year old daughter. Everything we ordered was amazing! We started with 3 appetizers: the pimento cheese with crab, tomato and mozzarella salad with arugula and micro-greens, and the watermelon, feta and pork belly. All three were outstanding! For entrees we had the scallops with a corn succotash and crab, and... More

Craven 247 has great atmosphere, good food, and a nice selection of beer and wine at the bar. However, the seating is extremely uncomfortable. I stopped going because the chairs are little antique looking table chairs from the 1930s. I get it, if you are going for the authentic look, etc but when a person will not return because the...
