We have lived in New Bern for a few years and have frequented the local establishments regularly. Today we had brunch at 247 Craven and we were not disappointed. The salads, sandwiches, shrimp, breakfast dishes and biscuits were out of this world. The Bloody Mary's, champagne and wine were excellent as well. Highly recommend the lettuce wedge salad, the mushroom... More

The menu at 247 is as interesting as you will ever find. I always look for something different and rarely ever really find it. Craven's is one of the "finds". Small, intimate, great suggestions from servers who know the menu and the last minute entres that the chef comes up with. Local produce and local as much as possible. My... More

Great food but you cannot talk to the person across the table from you. No sound absorbing curtains or wall covering. When one person talks loudly everyone else has to start talking loudly and the noise level raises. Very unfortunate because the food is very good. Best in New Bern.

My only wish is that the menu changed more often. This is a little gem of a restaurant with friendly staff and great homemade deserts. Local ingredients are highlighted in the dishes.

We visited late one evening, fairly close to closing. There were only 2 other couples in the room eating. Our service was good; but wasn't what I expected for the price we paid to eat. We'd recently eating at another comparable restaurant and the expectation was fairly high. The food was good, service was ok. Cute small atmosphere. I almost... More

Went down for Mum fest and hadn't planned on eating here, passed by and smelled so delicious we decided to go check out the menu. Saw that it was brunch and sounded delicious so gave it a try. Must say, one of the best cheeseburgers I've had. Potato roll alone was worth the price! Chips were homemade and again, wow!... More

My husband and I ate brunch here on our first day in New Bern. The food was very good. It was presented well and very fresh. We wished that we had gone back for dinner one night but there were other places we wanted to try and our time ran out before we could get back there.

We've gone to 247 Craven on several occasions and the food has always been outstanding. It's pricey, but the portions are generous and the preparation is always interesting. Recently it seems the wait staff has matured and are more attentive to detail. Previously that was not always the case. It is a very small restaurant so if it's crowded -... More

This a small quaint restaurant with a small plate/large plate menu. We had a table of six and they accommodated us well. The wait staff was very professional. Our server was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and his recommendations were spot on. The food was very tasty, from the baskets of warm bread, to the appetizers, to the main course.... More
