Stellar chef/communication needs help

Food was great, service was as well. This is a charming restaurant with the potential to be special place. Sadly, the Sat night that my wife and our closest friends were there to celebrate, the four of us could not even hear ourselves speak due to the unbelievably loud table of 15-17 people seated that evening. Even the service staff... More

247 Craven has an interesting menu, top notch service and reasonable prices. The hard part is deciding what to order. After that, just sit back and enjoy the ride. Lauren, the waitress knows the menu and can answer any questions that I could think of. She was timely and professional with everything, from menu to water. The menu...quite interesting. For... My wife and I dined at 247 Craven 4/8/2015 and were impressed all around. We are from Charleston, SC and are big foodies, we are often let down when we visit other towns as the food just does not compare, however I can say that 247 Craven is comparable to McCrady's or Husk in Charleston. We made reservations on Open... More

Amazing seafood, good atmosphere, quite small so reservations a must, highly recommended. Seafood chowder is one of the best I have tasted.

a small, unassuming type of place with a friendly , efficient staff and excellent, creative food. I seldom order halibut away from the Pacific Northwest because it is often frozen, dry or both. I tried it here and it was excellent. Other diners seemed equally pleased with their choices. I will definitely return although I wish they would get a... More

Reservations had been made weeks in advance so we were pleasantly surprised when 247 Craven called to ask if we would be interested in doing the wine dinner rather than just dinner. "Absolutely" was the right answer. This was a five course dinner prepared by Chef Ashley and paired with J. Lohr wines. The wines were such an excellent match... More

After reading all the positive reviews on this restaurant we were able to fit in a Sunday brunch before leaving New Bern . The food was ok , but basically a plain breakfast you could get anywhere ; service was good but food was just blah .

We visited 247 as a group, I ordered the Sea Bass. Sadly there was nothing to eat. The head and tail made up over 75% of the fish and the everything left over was fried so intensely that is was not edible. It was a very expensive mistake $30.00 plus
