I loved the broiled crab cake. Tons of lump crabmeat and very little filler. Delicious! The only down side would be the condiments that were brought to the table in in squeeze bottles. The restaurant is pretty nice and this took away from the feel a little.

Eddie Z here again. Let's start with the good. My wife ordered the sea scallop dinner with mashed potatoes and vegetables which was very good.On the other hand , I was going to order the yellowfin tuna but at the last minute ordered 2 crab cakes.what a mistake that was!! I've had crab cakes from Maryland to New England to... More

We are delighted your wife enjoyed her dinner, but are disappointed the crab cakes were not what you expected. We are very proud to serve only fresh local seafood, and that includes our crabmeat. We believe the natural fresh flavor is the main feature of seafood, and our chefs use seasonings only to enhance the natural flavor of the seafood.... More

Ate here the night before the Obx Marathon and the Southern 6 10k. Not too crowded, the food was plentiful and good, and not too overpriced. We both got the broiled shrimp with seasonal local veggies and a mushroom cheese grit cake. The grit cake was the best part of the meal.

Based on all the other glowing reviews, my wife and I decided to try Basnight's Lone Cedar Café and were not disappointed. I had the blackened Red Drum entrée, and my wife the broiled platter. Both were excellent, and after sneaking a scallop and a couple of shrimp from her plate, my taste buds reminded me of what really fresh... More

One of the very best in the Outer Banks. Margaritas were on-the-spot and oysters are outstanding. Shrimp and fish could've had a little more seasoning on the broiled seafood platter but the crab cake and scallops were delicious. Love the cornbread, too.

The broiled combo platter was fresh and delicious. It was perfectly cooked and more than enough food. My husband ate the scallops, I ate the flounder, shrimp and part of the crab cake. We also had peanut butter pie for dessert. Thankfully, we shared. It was huge and very rich. We will definitely be back!

Steamed clams were not edible. They tasted off- after the first one, I hesitated to try another. When the second was equally bad, I did not finish them. The table next to us had the same experience. I hope the kitchen will take this as strong advice to taste everything before they serve it in the future. The fried green... More

Our clams, as is all our seafood, are fresh and local. We buy our clams from Charles Seafood in Stumpy Point, and they are delivered to us every other day, fresh from the local waters. We are so sorry you felt your order of clams wasn't representative of our exceptional standards, and we hope you will try us again. Thank... More

Love eating here, fresh seafood with the name of the individual who caught it that day. The staff is excellent, our server Jeff, made great suggestions and paid attention to any of our needs or questions. Love the location of the property and the nice view. Very clean establishment. When near the Outer Banks, make sure to stop here to... More

The Lone Cedar only serves fresh local oysters and they're the best I've ever eaten, bar none, anywhere. The breading is so light, although crispy, the taste of the oyster comes through wonderfully. My fiancé had tuna steaks and they were done to perfection also. Large windows provide a view of the Sound. It's quiet enough that conversations can be... More
