We ate at Basnight's twice during our stay on the Outer Banks. It was nice to find a restaurant that was not touristy, had great food and a good atmosphere and was reasonably priced. They pride themselves on serving fresh, local seafood. The first night we had the She-Crab soup, which was excellent. We went back the second night and... more

As a long time patron of Basnight's Lone Cedar Cafe I feel it is my duty to all coniseurs of delicious local cuisine to correct the obsurd and unjust misconception recently posted in regards to racial discrimination. My ethnically diverse family has been celebrating milestone events and has enjoyed more meals than I can count in this above the bar... more

I try to send all of my guests from my inn to enjoy the fresh local seafood and the fantastic wine list at "The Cedar". The waitstaff and the barstaff go the extra mile and my customers are always greatful. The crab dip and she crab soup is second to none. The great water views are a bonus. I have... more

My husband and I brought a black couple to the restaurant on Tues. night and we arrived at 4:30 pm just as they opened. We were seated in the far back dining room. Shortly after another black couple was seated in our dining room but no one else came in. Our server was great and our food was better than... more

We arrived on a friday night at the restaurant at 630-7. There was no wait and we were seated in a small room overlooking the sound and the osprey nest which was really nice. I liked the vibe and decor as we walked through the restaurant but I did notice it was very loud inside, probably because of the high... more

We just returned from our 1st trip to Nags Head, and ended our week there with dinner at Basnight's. Five of us had no complaints, and lots of praise! The ambience is friendly, the servers friendlier and very helpful. And the FOOD! All we could say was WOW! From the appetizers to dessert, the meals were nothing less than perfect.... more

When I walked in, the restaurant reminded me of a school cafeteria. The tables are close together and the place is noisy. Slow service and mediocre food cap the experience. Would not go back. more

Basnight's Lone Cedar Cafe website does not do it justice. Fantastic local fresh seafood. Nice atmosphere. We had the Broiled Seafood platter. It was fantastic. And the spicy shrimp appetizer was great. Great food, reasonable prices. DEFINITELY recommended! The view on the water was very nice too. Our waitress was new, and we found the service to be slow. The... more

We had some of the best Shrimp and Grits in the Outerbanks. The back room has a nice atmosphere looking over the water and the middle room seems to be noisy. Service was excellent and we would go back here again. more
