At Lone Cedar Cafe, we specialize in fresh and local seafood. If you're craving the freshest fish, clams, crab, shrimp and oysters from local North Carolina waters, you'll find them at the Lone Cedar Cafe. For generations, Outer Banks families made their livings - and their daily meals - from the bounty of local waters, caught fresh every day. Our family, the Basnights, were part of that history, and we continue the tradition today by serving only the freshest Outer Banks seafood, caught in local waters and brought to our docks daily by local fishermen, then cleaned and prepared right here at the Lone Cedar Cafe. Our vegetables are "just picked" from North Carolina farms, we serve only all-natural beef and poultry and even our herbs and greens are grown in our own chemical-free garden on-site. Come enjoy delicious food, gorgeous sunsets and panoramic water views, the antics of our resident ospreys and our warm Southern hospitality.

never been disappointed

The crab cakes here are the best! Service is always good too. If you don't care for seafood come here for Sunday brunch and get the turkey dinner. Peanut butter pie is delicious as well.

We tried this restaurant several times as we heard good things about it. It was very hit or miss for us. In general we had wonderful servers...most of the time. Our dinners/ lunches were about 50/50...delicious to yuck. (Same meals by the way) The hostess area was generally unorganized, and we experienced at times 3x the wait than was communicated... More

As is "normal" in the OBX in the summer at decent or above average restaurants we had to wait about 45 minutes for a table at 8pm. The bar area we waited in was large with nice views. We had a group of none, so we knew we might have to wait until a section of the restaurant opened up.... More

We just had an average meal and really didn't get what all the hubub was about. Maybe we missed it or were there on an off night, but we weren't wowed. It was fine, just not great.

The whole family was very eager to try Basnights based on the reviews. A group of 6, 3 Parmesan crusted chickens, 2 mixed grilles, and a burger, I personally had the burger. It tasted like a burger I could make at home, and their fries weren't the best either. I did taste the crusted chicken and didn't like that either.... More

The food was good, the restaurant was well decorated. The staff and everyone were nice....maybe a little expensive to make this a yearly tradition, but still good.

DELICIOUS! Fresh seafood, great service, beautiful view from the deck outside. The main dining room was large and open which had me slightly concerned (it didn't feel like the "upscale" food experience I expected). When the server arrived, however, my first impression quickly changed. She was knowledgeable and made recommendations that were spot on. I LOVE that they serve fresh... More

Have been to this place several times and will continue to go there. Food is always top notch and so is the service. Fresh local seafood with a grit cake that will make your mouth water! Best place to eat on the Outer Banks, hands down!!!! Keep up the great work, see you all soon!!!

Our family has been visiting almost every year. We were told by friends who are locals to eat here a few years back. We always make a point to eat here and it is always a wonderful experience!

Our dinner was expensive and mediocre. Our service was terrible. The water tasted terrible and the iced tea did too (it was made with the terrible water). Their specialty sangria was bland and flavorless. When sent back the server left it on the bill. Our server did not listen to our requests. Brought one of the side dishes when the... More
