Good food. We had a bit of a wait, but they will text your cell phone which is nice - but beware you only have 5 minutes to get to the hostess, so don't go out for a jaunt on the beach.

I cannot say enough about Tortuga's Lie! I found this place on the Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives app. Guy was on point about Tortuga's Lie! Basically, we went back the very next day! Food was wonderful! Even food descriptions that sounded pretty average were not at all what was expected!! Presentation was not what you would expect from a small... More

My husband and I have always loved eating at Tortugas' Lie and in the past 20 years have eaten there often, making it one of our traditions when visiting the Outer Banks. We started to notice a decline in the food and particularly the service a couple of years ago, but chalked it up to the growing popularity of the... More

We loved this place so much, we ate there twice on our last visit to Nags Head. The food is full of flavor and is so fresh! Even though they were pretty busy when we visited, our food came out in such a short amount of time. The staff is very friendly, as well. We will make this one of... More

We got to the restaurant around 5pm to beat the crowds we read about in other reviews. That helped - we were seated immediately and the place was packed by the end of our meal. I had steamed Alaskan King crab legs, they were the best I've had. My husband had the scallops and they too were delicious. He also... More

Had the broiled crab cakes which came out like heavily pan fried. Everyone's meals were just so so. Good service though with friendly and attentive wait staff. Excellent Key Lime pie!

We had multiple people tell us that Tortugas Lie was the place to go and it did not disappoint! Arrived 9:30pm and sat right down...but were told we would be the last steamed order for the night. We shared the crab dip special - which was spectacular! Large lumps of crab! Also shared fish tacos that were delicious. The place... More

Drove to Nags Head from Raleigh for a day at the beach with the family. My wife went for the Steamed Combo, my son and I went for a double-stack version of the Swiss 'Jerk' Burger, covered with spicy 'jerk' seasoning & swiss cheese. He doubled the 'jerk' for his, while I stuck with the standard issue quantity since it... More

Eight of us dropped in for a late lunch at a busy time yet we were promptly seated. Each of us ordered something different except my wife and I. We ordered the fish tacos with Mahi being the fish of the day. It was delicious! It was also very filling and unlike normal, I didn't try a bit of everyone... More

Got here 5 minutes before opening and about 20 people waiting outside. Got seated right away and even though the kitchen was probably slammed as the place was full in 15 minutes our food was great. Super steamed clams, inventive sandwiches. Menu is essentially unchanged for 10 years but there is still something for everyone.
