We have visited this restaurant several times over the years and have had a great experience every time. Getting there early for the early bird specials will help you price wise. We have done both. The last time we went, there was about a 45 minute wait. However they had live, outdoor music and a bar where we could order... More

My family and I have been frequenting this establishment for over 30 years on our family vacations. Despite the rising prices and declining food quality, we continued to return for a few special menus items. Unfortunately, after this year's experience with the assistant manager, we will never return. We had called ahead to make reservations for 9 people and a... More

First Visit to the Area and We Asked our B&B on Roanoke Island for dinner suggestions. Tale of The Whale was on their short list and we now know why. We had their flounder and duo choice (can order two out of about four choices) entrees and while pricey, we could have found fresher and tastier seafood than right here!... More

My husband and I love to go there. The owners are always friendly and cater to your needs. those of you who are vacationing, it is a must stop. You will feel like you are on a cruise ship, especially if you are seated next to the window. But don't worry, every seat has a view of the water!

We live here year round and enjoy many super restaurants, so when our friends called & said this restaurant was closing for the season, we just had to join them for one last excellent meal. The she crab soup was wonderful and our entrees were tasty and plentiful. We had no room for dessert but took some home for later.... More

We decided to stop here for a birthday dinner after seeing an advertisement in one of the local magazines. This place did not disappoint. A beautiful atmosphere with a table overlooking the water, to great service from our waiter Todd, to a delicious meal- that was plentiful, and a great dessert. We'll definitely be back.

We arrived in time for the early bird special (20% discount). We had a booth over looking the water. The food and service were superb! We had shrimp cocktail and a crab dip appetizer - lots of crab in the crab dip. The prime rib was cooked perfectly, the broiled shrimp and crab were fabulous. The service was prompt and... More

We went during happy hour to take advantage of the 20% off. Our server was friendly, funny and knowledgable. We ordered the hot crab dip to start and was not disappointed. Full of crab meat! There were 4 of us and we all ordered different entrees. My mom got the fried popcorn shrimp (she's got pretty simple tastes) but I... More
