Red Drum is where I take my friends when they visit. The staff is GREAT! The food is fantastic. I love the steamed shrimp and mixed vegetables or the fish and chips or the tuna with lump crab meat, sour cream mashed potatoes and vegy medly! Oh wait the mushroom and swiss burger is the best on the beach as... More

We were married in KDH in May 2013 and during the week a group of 6 guys were getting fish sandwiches for lunch everyday from here just for the cocktail sauce! I went after the obx marathon this year and everything we had was wonderful the fish burrito, blackened tuna sandwich, and of course cocktail sauce! Great drink selection as... More

The mushroom swiss burger was delicious. I mean it had awesome flavor. I had a mahi over grits and shoepeg corn which was on the specials..it was very good. I believe everyone enjoyed their meals. Would go again.

During our most recent trip to the Outer Banks of North Carolina, we had planned to visit one of three restaurants that carried strong TripAdvisor reviews. They were all closed for the season or on reduced schedules. On our way back to our hotel, we accidentally located Red Drum Taphouse. Considering the relatively full parking lot (a good sign, especially... More

We stopped in at this joint because our first two choices had hour long wait lists and this place had pleanty of empty parking spaces. I was not expecting the local micro-brews to be so yummy. They were great! The food choices on the menu looked "so-so" but when our dishes came out they looked, smelled, and tasted far better... More

Love food at the Red Drum - usually get their tuna, tried the rockfish last week . . . .excellent! Always fresh, innovative preparations, good service, a good beach joint - raucous, casual, fun.

This is our go-to place in OBX when we have friends in from out-of-town. They just keep saying what great food and fun are always greeting us at the Red Drum! Love the friendly bar and wait staff. Great options for lunch and dinner. Gotta try the Queso Shrimp Dip.....my favorite!!

We have been coming to the Outer Banks of NC for almost 20 years. One of our favorite restaurants is the Red Drum Taphouse. The service is always friendly & speedy. The food is delicious--with generous portions. The Fish & Chips is a favorite with our family. Don't forget to try one of the varied brew offerings. We will definitely... More

Don't waste you time. The food is not from the local fishermen. The service poor and their manners, will just no manners. Our dinner for six was $130 and some change, we left a $25 dollar tip, and the came and ask us did she do ok. Made us feel uneasy that a tip like that wasn't large enough.
