Celebrating over 50 years as a customer at Owens!

My first visit to Owens' was in summer of '62, almost 53 years ago. The Owens family has been doing it perfectly time after time! Never had a bad meal at Owens! The Hatteras chowder is as close to my Grandmother's as I can find, the seafood platters are piled high and filling. The breads, desserts... read more

There are a lot of mediocre eating places on the Outer Banks and Owens does stand clearly above the rest of them. Enjoyed the historic decor and spacious dining areas with ambiance and taste. Wait staff were a bit pushy but we went with our own flow. Enjoyed the traditional seafood appetizer dishes and fresh grilled fish and traditional desserts... More

My wife and I both took each other out to Owens' for our Birthday dinners (September and November). The food and service were excellent! The "Carolina Blue Salad" is over the top wonderful with thick and creamy blue cheese and a generous helping of bacon chunks. I suggest having at least a cup of Crab Bisque, it is excellent. I... We have always loved Owen's and had heard from a local we met at a craft show in Richmond, that the last time she was there, the food wasn't good. Well....let me tell you....when we went, the food was AMAZING!!!! The lobster bisque was delicious and I had the Surf and Turf....Filet, perfect, lobster tail, perfect. Worth every penny for... Was in Nag's Head for only one night and asked several people for the best restaurant that might be open. Each suggested a few, all included Owen's so that is where we went. It was fully decorated for Christmas and was really very cozy with a country elegance. Reminded me of when I was a kid. The menu was excellent,... More

I love Owen's. We go there each visit to the OBX, with the exception of when we tried another place a few years ago nearby. Huge mistake. We will always come here from now on. The service rivals that of fancy restaurants, but the atmosphere is very casual. The dishes there are impeccably delish, but what I find odd are... More

What fantastic food, great service and beautiful ambiance! Don't miss this place if you find yourself near Nags Head. We went for the first time on our first night, and then decided once wasn't enough. (If you like oysters, they have an appetizer in a wine reduction sauce that's brilliant!)

I loved the cluttered ambiance of the restaurant and coming from the Pacific NW I am a seafood snob so was also delighted how good the calamari was. We dined in a small alcove all to ourselves and our waiter was a professional. Very attentive, very astute. I would go again.

The service was excellent as can be expected from a full service restaurant. The food was good. The hush puppies (first time we ever had some) were delicious.
