This place is adorable. Very quaint. Perfect ocean restaurant with lots of character. The She Crab soup was delicious. Would love some more of that right now. The crab cakes were just okay. I wasn't too impressed with that. My nine year old had the calamari appetizer for lunch and it was really good. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meal.... More

This is a typical genuine US restaurant. We decided to have a cocktail at the bar and then we continued there our dinner. Baseball match on the screen, US music on air, good big cocktails and fresh local beer, genuine fresh fish. The raw material is really good and fresh, the way it is cooked is simple and appropriate. Found this little place to eat and was pleased with the yummy food but our waitress was slow and preoccupied with her phone. The restaurant was a little stuffy inside but overall our lunch experience was great.

My husband and son and I had two wonderful breakfasts while on vacation in the Outer Banks in July. All the food was excellent. The service was kind and courteous. We tried a few other places but this was the best!

Out waitress was nice and the staff was pleasant Those are the nicest things i can say about this establishment. They ran out of cream chipped beef for breakfast? How? Stopped in for lunch a few days ago, heard it was the place to go. Wasn't disappointed. It was a small place, but the food was decent. Nice little beach shack, grill, bar feel to it. Got a sandwich and some fries. Fries were real good. Definitely would go back. Would like to try some breakfast there next.

I've always heard that Sam and Omie's was an OBX must-do. Well, I was a little disappointed. The service was okay--nothing noteworthy. Our food was very good, but I've had better. If you're looking for somewhere local to get a nice sandwich, this is a good choice. Just don't set your expectations too high.

Although this place isn't fancy inside or out it has some of the best food on the Outer Banks, The fried clams are big, tender and cooked to perfection. The prices are very reasonable. Its worth the wait, which you often have to do.

Typical beach place for breakfast. My waffle was very dry and average and husbands eggs and toast were ok. It will do for a once in a while visit.

My family and I have been visiting the Outer Banks for over 45 years. We have seen many of the original (to us) restaurants close and be replaced by nationally familiar chains. Not so with "Sam and Omie's." This restaurant is a converted old beach cottage complete with a slamming screen door! (Think "Summer of 42" movie!) Although this has... More
