Great Food, Cool Staff

If you are visiting the Outer Banks for the first time you have to go to Sam & Omie's. This is one of the oldest & most famous restaurant's on the Outer Banks. It's nothing fancy, but it's really good, local seafood for a great price, and also a great place to stop in and have a beer or two.... read more

Even if your hotel has free breakfast, take a day to purchase it here instead! You won't be sorry. My husband raved about this place until I finally caved one visit and now we go about 2 times during our stays (which usually last about a week or more). Love it! Honest engine: we actually drove down to OBX one... More

Hubby and I enjoyed a seafood dinner here, it was close to our hotel. I had the flounder and hubby had clam strips.. We both enjoyed our meal and the staff were attentive. I would recommend Sam & Omie's

Many places were closed for the low season but Sam & Omie's was open. The staff were friendly and took the trouble to explain their menu. We had a good hearty menu and good driving advise for the drive south.

Everybody comes here because it is THE place for breakfast! A long time local hang out where the fish is fresh and the service friendly. The daily specials are great! Recent visits had broiled flounder, crab cakes, fried flounder, and mullet.Enjoyed them all. Nice variety of sides too, beans and rice, delish cole slaw, applesauce, fries etc. We always look forward to at least one stop each trip.if soft shelled... More

Call it tradition or whatever you want but a stop at Sam and Omie's has been a must for us ever since we started coming to the OBX about 20 years ago... Food is consistently good, especially breakfast! Always great service. We even drive up from Rodanthe now that we stay on HI each summer...wouldn't think of not eating here!!!

We got seated pretty quick. When we went to order I asked for a salad with blue cheese and I was told they were out of blue cheese. My friend ordered ribeye steak and he was told they were out of ribeye steak. I ordered the flounder. The fillets were very small, They still had skin on the bottom. And... More
