Our favorite meal in Nags Head is the early bird fried shrimp dinner at Sugar Creek Restaurant. 20 med-large, local shrimp are lightly breaded and deep fried to perfection. These shrimp are NOT greasy...and you get two sides and fresh corn bread. Shrimp can be broiled, too. You cannot beat the quality of this dish anywhere in the OBX....best fried... More

Somehow this place is just average every time we go. Nothing bad, but it just doesn't make me feel like praising it. Food was good but nothing really special.

The decor was dated and worn. The menu is dated. The service was slow. The food was ok to bad. My potato skins were cold. The fried green tomatoes were good. That was the only thing that kept me from giving one star. The location is pretty. Updating the decor, updating the menu, and improving the service need to happen... More

We went to the Nags Head beach yesterday for my husbands birthday. Around 4:00 we packed up and headed Sugar Creek Seafood Restaurant for the early bird special, 20 fried shrimp with 2 sides. We do get different meals every now and then but honestly their fried shrimp is so hard to pass. It is a light coat of batter... More

My family and I have made it a tradition of sorts to eat here every year while on vacation. In the past the food has been good and was offered at a different price. However, this year we were very disappointed in our meal. We had a party of 7 which is standard for this place as they deal with... More

The shrimp is wonderful as is everything I have tried at this restaurant. Service is great and prices are reasonable which is why we keep returning.

This was our second time back after a couple of years and was highly disappointed! Husband had fried fisherman platter and fish fillet was over cooked along w crab ball being undercooked and nothing but flour! I had broiled scallops which were over cooked no seasoning and no taste! Establishment took off $40 on bill defiantly over priced originally $100... More

Our group of twelve went here because the wait was shorter. Blandly seasoned broiled fish. All average at best. They do have some nice water view table for sunset, but many others with no water view at all. Fried seafood choices are probably better at this place.

Fresh fish or not, when you go to the beach and you want seafood, it better taste good. If it isn't fresh and one is going to charge $27 for a seafood platter, you better not be able to tell the difference. The seafood was either not fresh or overcooked. The shrimp was fine, but everything else was too greasy,... More

We were all extremely disappointed with our experience today. The broiled seafood platter had zero seasoning or flavor, the steak had a fishy taste, and the piña colada was disgusting (it was actually a little spicy which is quite perplexing). Out of 7 adults there was only one meal that was considered edible only because the bland fish was masked... More
