Beautiful view for a cold day

We left the frozen northeast for a week long stay in the outer banks. I wanted seafood and we stopped at the Sugar Creek. The main restaurant was closed, so we ate at the smaller seafood market/restaurant beside it. I had fried oysters, sweet potato fries and cole slaw. The food was great, BUT... read more

We began by making our trip to N.C. My mother had always talked about going to R.V.'s. Since then they have changed the name to "Sugar Creek" I'd say they are very "sugared up" there. We were greeted by a beautiful young country girl who had the biggest smile, and this lady...I guess she was the other hostess snatched the... More

Beautiful view. Great location. Unfortunately that's about all I can find to say good. As another reviewer commented, it may be because we were there off-season, but we were very unimpressed. It wasn't busy, so that wasn't the reason for the indifferent service - maybe it had just been a long summer and they were tired. The food wasn't anything... More

I got the flounder plate with fries and coleslaw, and tea. The food was OK.... it was just one piece of flounder, but I guess for $10 at the beach, you can't expect a lot of food. The tableware was all disposable, so they serve on paper plates and use plastic flatware and paper cups. I think I'd probably go... More

The service was good and the soups are home made. We had eaten here November and the seafood Chowder was excellent.

The setting is enough to encourage someone to stop for a meal. Your choice of the Sugar Shack Seafood Mkt. or the Restaurant. After eating at the restaurant several times I must admit that I've had some good meals and others that were average. I can't say anything bad about the restaurant simply that on occasion it is similar to... More

I like this Restaurant for lunch as the prices are far more reasonable. They have daily specials, they use fresh local seafood, and the views just can't be beaten.

As the scenic photos show, this is a great spot for seeing the Albemarle Sound just south and east of Manteo, NC. It's close by Jeanette's Pier & about 15 mins or so drive fm both Bodie Lighthouse & the Pea Island Natl Wildlife Refuge. But you DON'T have to go into the restaurant to get the great views! Having... More

We went on the last day that they were going to be open for the season. This may be a fine place to eat during the in season but I cannot give them a glowing review. The soups we had were so so. seafood bisque and clam chowder. The salmon cakes had no flavor and screamed for onions, celery etc... More

We always enjoy Sugar Creek every time we are in OBX. The food is great and to sit and watch a sunset over the sound is icing on the cake.
