We passed this place several times during our vacation and always found it to be busy on the outside. On our last night we decided to pull in and see what awaited us. The interior is clear and pleasant no theme here. Service was great. not too busy for an early Sunday evening. I ordered a half rack ribs and... More

Sometimes when you're driving along you find one of those places that begs for you to stop. This one of them. We saw it a few times and it was always packed. When we finally did stop we realized why. It is amazing. Great menu, food, service and more. Don't wait as long as we did. If people are there,... More

The parking lot is always full, because there is not really enough parking. There is usually a wait of about 20 minutes if you go on a Friday or Saturday night. The atmosphere is ok, but nothing to write home about. Been there 3 times and I can't even tell you what their theme is. The salad bar is a... More

The BBQ chicken was delicious as was the trout - both perfectly prepared and moist. Go for the side dishes rather than the salad bar, unless you really crave a salad. Salad bar is straight out of the bag/can and a bit over-priced. The hush puppies were a bit crunchy on the outside, but did have a good flavor. They... More

Someone else wrote--and I agree--the place doesn't look like much from the outside so we were a bit dubious. However, the food was plentiful and outstanding. It was certainly worth the wait---which is why we decided to give the place a shot since there had to be a reason for people to wait. This place still uses wood smoke and... More

From the outside, it doesn't look like much. Then, when you walk it, it's part gift shop, part hostess, part history of Herb. Once you get past the no frills look of the place, be prepared to be treated with friendly southern hospitality and delicious food. We had the ribs and a pulled pork sandwich with a piece of pecan... On a recent trip to Cherokee we passed Herb's Pit Bar B Cue and decided to stop for lunch. We were glad we did. I ordered the sirloin tips with baked potato and salad and my husband ordered the pork barbecue with potato salad and slaw. The salad plates are very small so be aware if you like a big... More

This was an overall great experience starting with the fresh well stocked salad bar. We had prime rib and I requested the "end cut" and found it to be very delicious, spicy and flavorful. The baked potatoes were well prepared and the chocolate sundae dessert was most wonderful but almost too large a serving for two people. We have heard... More

AWESOME!! is all I can say. if these guys weren't over 4 hours away, we'd eat there practically every day. Brunswick Stew is fantastic. the BBQ is so smoky, you don't need any sauces. service is super friendly. the 1 thing you need to know: they aren't immediately in Murphy. they are several miles west on US 64, about 4...
