Have eaten here over the years when we were in the area. Always had the pork chop sandwich when Charles Dowell fried them in the window. They were awesome. Last week we went back and we're disappointed because they lacked any flavor. Don't know if the recipe is different since Charles died or just because he's not doing the cooking.... More

Get the ground steak sandwich, or the famous pork chop sandwich, or the BLT?!?! Or the hot dogs, they are pink. Very clean, extraordinarily fast - hence the name "Snappy Lunch". Quick and pleasant service, very easy on the billfold. This place has small town USA embedded in it's core. This is Main Street USA since 1923, a must see... More

this is an old fashioned diner. No plates or frills here. But prices of the 1950's or so. The pork sandwich with everything on it is so good I had it on my second trip there too. If you are waiting in the line outside it moves well. Don't be too afraid.

Hard to believe but the highest priced item on the menu was their famous pork chop sandwich...$4.20!!! No frills, great (& snappy) service, good food, unbelievable prices, fun patrons. Pictures of previous famous customers on the wall. You almost expect Andy and Barney to walk in for lunch. Btw, only open for breakfast and lunch, until about 1:30pm, so don't... More

I drove 6 hours out of my way for a breaded pork chop sandwich from Snappy Lunch. The best pork chop sandwich in the country. This is a throwback from the 1940's.

Visited a friend in NC and we went to Mt. Airy to see home of Andy Griffith, visited museum, Floyd's Barber Shop, Snappys for lunch, enjoyed the quaint atmosphere of a simple time in history.

Hubby loved the pork chop sandwich with all the toppings, even if messy. I loved the grilled cheese sandwich. Simple booths and lots of pictures on the wall to enjoy! Very small menu, but it is fast and clean up is easy because there are no plates, silverware or glasses. Drinks served in styrofoam cups. Waitresses make sure to keep... More

Took a step back in time. Nothing fancy but the porkchop sandwich was hot, tasty and reasonably priced. Enjoyed looking at the pictures hanging throughout the restaurant. Friendly and fast service. Enjoyed our quick visit to the area.

There is nothing I can say here that has not already been said in other reviews but I feel the need to write one anyway. You simply have to get a Pork Chop Sandwich, and you have to get it all the way, no ifs and buts or excuses! It may sound like a cerry strange combination of items but... More
