Famous for the pork chop sandwich, $4.20 served wrapped in waxed paper no tray, but plastic utensils for the chili and coleslaw mess. No flavor to either the chili or the coleslaw and the pork chop is battered in a pancake like batter and fried - again no flavor. My husband is allergic to wheat so he had one with... More

Good food but pricey, the wait in line not worth it. Love the town and atmosphere.Mainly a tourist attraction

If you want a taste of history as well as a budget-friendly, good lunch, this is the place. Preserved as it was during the Andy Griffith era, you'll feel like Andy, Opie, or Aunt Bea might walk through the door at any moment.

It is a very quaint little lunch spot. Has awesome pictures and the food is prepared right in front of you. We didn't care much for the pork chop sandwich, but a lot of people love it.

Service was quick (if you get there before the crowds start lining up for lunch). I went about 10:15 and had my food very quickly.

Went to "Mayberry" for an afternoon, and stopped at Snappy Lunch for a bite to eat. It's a great little throwback diner with classic lunch counter and a number of tables. We were greeted by the very nice people and took a seat. We both went with the unique (at least as far as I never had one like this)... More

Yum! Yum! Yum! We popped in on a Wednesday afternoon and had their famous pork chop sandwich. In addition to the great food, we had a delightful conversation with our waitress who happily told us stories about Andy Griffith, other stars from the show, pointed out photos of interest on the restaurant walls and truly made us feel at home.... I love watching old Andy Griffith shows and was thrilled to be taken to Mount Airy AKA Mayberry for lunch. We parked on the main street and walked down to Snappy Lunch. Right next door was Floyd's City Barber Shop and a police cruiser like Andy's drove by. The menu at Snappy was simple and prices great. We all ordered... More

Give breakfast a shot if you don't get a free one at your hotel. Heck, even if you do, still go and grab a couple biscuits and unique scrambled eggs, sausage gravy and a pork tenderloin medallion. It's different and fun. Did I say the biscuits are AWESOME! Oh, the other plus is cheap and friendly.
