Great little find

Great atmosphere and authentic Cuban food. Hard to find in a strip center next to a defunct outlet mall but worth the trip. Cool interior and great food.

I had the Mariscos a la Carmen’s which is lobster, shrimp, clams, mussels, scallops & fish in a Caribbean-infused sauce. A bit pricey- but well worth it if your in the RDU area. Large quantities and very tasty. Also excellent service! There were less expensive items on the menu, but this was a great meal,

The food still rates a 4, but my glass of wine was definitely off. It tasted suspiciously like the bottle had been opened previously for a pour and then not used again for several days. But the masitas de puerco was tasty even if an occasional piece was a bit overcooked or chewy, and the yellow rice and black beans... More

I went for dinner on monday night. The entire experience was delightful. As I was alone I sat at the bar and the service was very attentive. The bar tender was friendly and we chatted about Cuban restaurants near where I live in the Tampa area, and he made recommendations regarding BBQ paces in the RDU area. While looking at... More

Great location if you are staying at a hotel around RDU. Our son frequents Carmen's for lunch and we had the added bonus of earning Delta Skymiles for dining here. Food was excellent and a good value. Would definitely return. My Cuban style chicken fried steak was excellent. Our son's pork dish was tender and delicious. We enjoyed a lovely... More

This was my first time trying Cuban food this month and I will see I do enjoy their food. However, their customer service needs improving tremendously! ! The waiters have not been that friendly the last two times I have visited. One of the bartenders attitude is rude and sarcastic. While the younger caucasian guys attitude is really inviting. In... While on a business trip a couple years in the Research Triangle Park area, I asked the hotel for a close restaurant, they recommended Carmen's for great Cuban food. And they were right! Every time I visit RTP, I will hit Carmen's for great cuban food! It is tucked away in a strip mall (that is currently under construction), but... More

We came to Carmen's hoping to find a jewel in the rough. When we pulled into the parking lot there was a ton of construction going on and we wondered if we made the right choice. Once entering we found the decor to be very impressive and nice. The menu selections were were extensive but some of the food didn't... More

Stayed in a hotel nearby, and found this place by chance. Non-descript place in a strip mall. Bar area and dining room, dance room next door. Great menu and the food is awesome from carne asada to lechon to the empanadas; mojitos are fantastic. Great service, and good deal for what you get.
