Bit of a hidden gem

It's slightly off the beaten path but certainly not too far from most hotels. The steaks are on par with Ruths Chris but the prices are reasonable. Also in comparison to RC you get a human sized side without the overpriced a la carte option.

On a business trip looking for dinner with colleagues. The hotel recommended this place. I had a ribeye that came over cooked. They replaced it with another steak that was just a tad less done than the first and still not even close to Med Rare. The poor piece of beef looked like a pork chop. Not good. Salad came... More

The Capitol City Chop house is just minutes from the Hilton Garden Inn at the Airport. The food is great and the atmosphere perfect for a night out with your lady.

I have been here several times meeting colleagues for appetizers at the bar after work. The appetizers were always good so we tried a dinner here the 1st week in March. The restaurant was really busy for a weeknight and there was a short wait to be sat. The waiter was attentive and knowledgeable but did seem a bit rushed... More

Trapped in the sterile RTP corridor. Hoping to find a meal on a rainy night close to the Sheraton in Durham. Had a bad feeling about this place but reviews were decent so I have it a try. Cutting to the chase - for $38 had a very sad thin gristly rib eye. A poor rib eye is a sad... More

This is not a place most of us can afford all the time, but it is definitely worthy of those special occasions or that nice place to treat business associates. The filet special I ordered had to be one of the best steaks I have ever eaten in a restaurant. The atmosphere is formal, but not at all stuffy. The... More

We haven't been to the Chop House in quite some time because they had made some menu changes a while back and also the service/quality had dropped off. Well, I'm glad that my brother encouraged me to go back because they are back on track. We went the day before Valentine's Day. I was really hoping for the rack of... More

Ate here twice this past week. I had the same meal twice as I loved the taste of the cowboy ribeye steak. Nice atmosphere - wood panels, green walls, quiet as well. This is not a cheap restaurant as the steaks ran in the high 30's to upper 40's. Appetizers our group had consisted of calamari, shrimp cocktail, sushimi and... More

The Capitoal City Chop House many times and the food is always been excellent. The services is always superb. The menu is a bit pricey but well worth the money. I've taken several businesses associates there and they are felt the same, the food and service was excellent. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you were in the Raleigh-Durham... More

This restaurant is off the beaten path, but a good find. The steaks were tasty although they didn't seem to be high-heat seared such as you get at the large upscale chain steakhouses. The cowboy cut ribeye had great flavor but was more lean than I'm used to, and I'm sure that's a matter of taste. The crab bisque was... More
