This used to be a good choice for dim sum. Then it got sold and went downhill. And we went back to Durham for dim sum. Our last visit to Dim Sum House showed us it's back to where it was a couple of years ago and maybe better. The dim sum menu is larger than it used to be.... More

We enjoyed our meal mostly for the good company and variety of dishes. There were four of us so we were able to order several different items. Quality was variable ranging from very good to disappointing. Prices were reasonable for quality delivered. If you are in the area and in the mood for dim sum this is a reasonable choice.... More

With an Asian(Korean) wife, we tend to eat at asian restaurants. Mostly Korean, Thai and Japanese. Chinese We usually stay away from Chinese restaurants, especially Buffets. Chinese restaurants usually have the lowest Health Scores, and a lot of food temperature and cross contamination 85- Dim Sum Based on a conversation with a health inspector, they say I should eat at... Stopped in for lunch with my daughter. Shes at NC State and wS craving dim sum. The place was close to empty. The waitress really didnt understand english. This made any explaination of the menu exhausting and for not. We ordeered some different dumplings and also a main dish. The main dish came out first, a chicken curry with thin rice... More

Simple, homely place..not fancy and not a dive. Nice, friendly people at the counter and offering service. Good dim sum...got a bit boring at our third visit during the year (says something!).. Hope they have spiffed up the offerings and added some variety for vegetarians (one of our family is). Is always well worth the drive from Chapel Hill.

Better than ever. They have new items on the carts, and we really enjoyed and everything we had was good. There were beef rib-lets, a new kind of pork dumpling, and a tofu skin roll that were especially delicious, and as we were paying the bill the nice girl at the counter mentioned a new watermelon dish. The place was jammed... I ordered 4 items off the dim sum menu. Everything I got was prepared fresh. All of the dishes were very tasty. I will visit this restaurant again when I am in the area.

Not sure what happened but quality of food has definitely gone down. We ordered a total of 8 dim sum dishes. 3 were ok. The other 5 were a disappointment, especially the beef balls and shumai. Good thing we live equal distance to Hong Kong Restaurant in Durham.

Upon arrival at lunch time on a weekday, the restaurant was empty. That should have been a clue not to stay and eat. The food was uneven at best - despite the fact that our waitress sat and played on her phone, our order arrived slowly and one dish arrived 15 minutes after our first dishes - cold. I suspect... We've eaten here both during the week and on the weekend. On weekends they push the food around on carts. You're at the mercy of the waiter. It seems the good waiters ask what you want and then bring the items to you as soon as the cart emerges from the kitchen. If you wait for the cart, often the... More
