I've been to Smokey's several times, and it is always delicious. From the BBQ to the sweet tea to the great range of sides, there isn't anything that I've had that I didn't like. The baked beans are unique and tasty (four different kinds of beans!) and the mac and cheese is super creamy. Highly highly highly recommend!!!!!!

The outside is unassuming and the rooms are chock full of whacky and zany decor. You get a real feel for the owners' personalities; there's something to be said for the local charm and personal feeling to the place. Love the atmosphere. It's down-home southern. The dry rub is excellent. The smoke is flavorful and real (yet not overpowering) -... More

I've been going to this place for years. It continues to be the best BBQ I've ever had. I prefer the pork but the brisket is excellent too. Indoor seating when the weather is rough and a fabulous back yard when the sun is shining.

Very good BBQ with good serving sizes and a spicy BBQ sauce with perfect heat. Certainly one of the best BBQ joints in North Carolina.

I was expected knock your socks off BBQ, but it was average, my husband and I can do a better job. My husband actually got sick from it and could not keep it down, so we won't be eating here again.

Visiting family and decided to try Smokey's BBQ Shack. One of the best BBQ I've ever had. The place is very small, and you order and take it to your own table. We ordered the sampler plate to try a little bit of everything. The brisket was awesome. The pulled pork and chicken were as well. Wings were really spiced... More

Authentic BBQ! The pulled pork was out of this world - savory, moist and delicious! The hush puppies just added to the meal and some of the best Sweet Tea I've ever had! Can't wait to return every time I'm in town.

I liked the atomosphere in this restaurant far better than I liked the food. I love BBQ in general and since I have been in NC I have been to 5-6 BBQ joints looking for something to stand out. This was not the place. Their pulled chicken was the best thing on the plate - and it wasn't even on... More

BBQ sauce and ribs are such a personal preference item, that the best thing I can say is, this place is worth trying out to see if it's your favorite. The ribs and sauce are both good here IMO. My favorite ribs and sauces are from Texas and Kansas City, and for me, this place isn't too far behind, but... More

I took my boyfriend at the time, now husband, as a surprise because he loves BBQ. The burnt ends were amazing! I'm greedy and wanted more, but this is a prized portion of the meat so we were quite lucky to receive the pieces we got to enjoy. My fried okra was undercooked, but the owner walked by the table...
