I had heard excellent things about this restaurant, but was disappointed. I'm sure the owner would be dismayed to know how indifferent the wait staff was. She actually brought our check without asking if we wanted dessert, then seemed perturbed when we asked for a menu. The food was also average for the price. I probably won't go back.

Maybe not one of the best meals I have ever had but darn close. Service was excellent, food was well prepared, and atmosphere was warm and inviting. My wife and I both had steak and for the price was one of the best steaks I have had in a long time.

Try the baked brie! Out of this world tasty! While pricy, the food was fresh and prepared to order. Service was top notch. Excellent beer and wine connection.

Root & Vine is very unique, the food is very good. The atmosphere is unlike any in Morganton. The food is a little more expensive than the average Morganton restaurant.

Simple, high quality and organic ingrediants blended together with sophisticated flavorings and presentation. The atmosphere was romantic and the wine was excellent. We will certainly be back.

Just passing through and didn't expect to find a restaurant like this in Morganton. It's really a lovely place to eat. The service was good enough. I really wanted to like this meal. It was beautifully presented and the preparation was thoughtful. However, the pork chop was not particularly tender or flavorful. Not bad, but less than I was expecting.... More

We had two amazing meals here as we celebrated my husbands birthday. Loved the window table! We will definitely eat here again on our next visit to Morganton

My daughter had wanted to go here. Finally we did and we sat outside on a Saturday afternoon. I ordered soup and a salmon sandwich. The service, and food were great. I recommend this for any one in this area. Even travellers on I 40 must look this up after checking their times. Will definitely visit again.

Amazingly good! Everything was great, food, drinks, and the did I mention the drinks! Seasonal menu and drinks. The beef tenderloin is worth every penny. A bit pricy but so with it.

Had an impromptu family dinner here and thoroughly enjoyed both the food and the atmosphere. The staff is both friendly and professional and the kitchen does a wonderful job. A little on the pricey side but worth it for the experience. We would definitely return.
