Second choice...should have been our first

My wife and I and a couple of friends decided to go out for the evening meal. We came upon the Bistro By the Sea as a second choice, because our first choice was closed. I'm glad it was closed. This was our first time to The Bistro, but not our last. Our hostess was most pleasent, and seated... read more

On a recent visit to Morehead City, NC, we stayed at the Hampton Inn. We took a chance on a restaurant next door and were pleasantly surprised. The staff was friendly, the atmosphere was so inviting, and the food was wonderful. We actually made a meal of just appetizers, because the main courses were absolutely huge. The stuffed oysters were... More

Restaurant has a good reputation in town, but is overrated. Food is very average and the place is noisy and crowded, since the tables are too close together.

This was teh first time I ate here. I was glad to share the experience with a very dear friend of mine. Every thing was great. I had the shrimp chowder, fish with potatoes and pumpkin cheesecake. I would go there again the atmosphere is pleasent and so was the staff. I will be back.

We shared an exceptional meal at Bistro by the Sea this weekend with friends while staying in Atlantic beach. We were a little unsure when we heard that there was a prix fixe menu, but went ahead at the urging of our friends. In short, the meal of Wahoo in Dill Sauce was amazing. The fish was incredibly fresh and... More

The food was fairly good, and the service was attentive. I have had fresher seafood at other local restaurants, and the shrimp was overcooked. The atmosphere was cramped with no ability to have private conversations. When I used the ladies room, I found the pictures very disturbing. Three paintings of naked little girls, one as young as 5 or 6... More

We eat here whenever we are in town on vacation. It was awesome! The staff and servers that work here are the best. Food was better than great, great drinks and wonderful service and atmosphere. We will be back.

I have dined here several times and have never been disappointed. The prime rib, steaks and fish dishes are all delicious. If you go you should definitely try either the crab bisque or she crab soup, both are out of this world, the best I have ever tried.

I ate the best piece of triggerfish that I will probably ever put in my mouth Labor Day weekend (try the Carteret catch or local catch). It was not very imaginative to place it over a giant slab of scalloped potatoes, but the fish almost made up for that. The place was packed, and it was evident that they were... More

Our family dined at Bistro by the Sea Labor Day weekend and it was great. We were a party of 11. Each of us got a different entre and we sampled each others food. Everything was delightful. The atmosphere was appealing and our waitress was courteous and experienced. And relatively speaking, it is reasonably priced. We plan to return soon.
