Nothing fancy, just a old style family restaurant complete with plastic plates. I had the Big boy steak and shrimp dinner, at $14.95 it was the second most expensive meal on the menu. The ribeye was cooked to order and served with the most delicious fried shrimp I've ever had. The list of sides was impressive in its choices unlike... More

This is a locally owned family dinner that have been serving food since 1976. They serve breakfast all day and they serve local seafood. We had breakfast and tried the cornbeef hash and biscuits and milk gravy. The gravy was simple and delicious. The cornbeef hash reminded me of what my grandmother used to make, very simple and good. There... More

We have always had great service. Many specials daily, and the price is right. Good old country style cooking.

A local restaurant very popular with people in the area. Basic good country menu, breakfast served all day , seafood platters that are highly popular with tourists. Nothing fancy. Laid back, good service, delicious sweet tea...you get the picture.

We chose this restaurant based on other reviews. It wasn't great or even good. It was just ok. Health score of 95. Mashed potatoes were instant. Waitress friendly but barely checked on us. Not what we were looking for. This place is your average diner with average food. We will keep looking for a great seafood restaurant next time we... More

Food was very good, waitress was very forgetful on almost the side of horrible! We were referred by 3 different people to come here, on the understanding it's an local mom & pop type of joint we weren't expecting to be WOW'd by the décor by any means but when we ordered first off our drinks that took about 5... Cox's family restaurant is our favorite place to eat when we are at Emerald Isle! At times we eat there twice a day. The food, service and price is the best around. We accidentally found it about 6 years ago and even when we are staying 25 miles away, we drive there just for a meal.

I love eating here. I enjoy it everytime I have a meal here. It is so homey and come as you are. Serve is nice and food so good. One of the favorites of the locals. If traveling thru you need to check out this place. Good value, good food.

All the locals frequent this place and most are Seniors. The food is homemade and the prices are low. Most food is fried. Monday night is best because they offer a real turkey dinner. Service leaves a lot to be desired and locals are favored over tourists.
