Disappointed

We had planned to eat at Captain Bill's but they were closed for the season. Sammy's was just across the street so we went there. The health rating was 93 so I should have known better than to expect a great meal. The clam strips were over cooked and tough. I would consider it a very small portion... read more

We were out and about in Morehead, and decided we wanted to try something new for lunch. We stopped into Sammy's. My partner ordered the flounder which she said was the best flounder she had ever had. I ordered a friend shrimp platter. We both shared the stuffed shrimp appetizer, which was delicious. Service was excellent, our drinks never were... More

One of the best meals I have ever eaten in a restaurant. What a very nice surprise! Friends had recommended two other places to eat, but (luckily!) they were both closed. I really lucked into a treasure.

Crab dip was awesome! I had the tuna steak burger and honestly the tuna steak used Was larger than most when I order it as an entree. Good service all around. Highly recommended.

You don't want to miss the crab dip and order yourself a Kalik the authentic Bahamian beer only carried at Sammy's in Morehead! We eat raw Oysters on 1/2 shell every year at this time of year, never disappointed! Best seafood in Morehead!

We went here with family to celebrate my mother in laws birthday. Everyone said their food was delicious! The only complaint was the coleslaw, they said it was bland. Persor I had the stiffed shrimp, which came with 5shrimp that were amazing, baked potato and broccoli. My husband had the stuffed trigger fish. The staff was very friendly and we will... More

after a 14 hour drive from Boston on Christmas Day we were thrilled to find a restaurant open for dinner. Sammy's was not only open, it was OUTSTANDING both in food and service. The oysters were to die for! Had grilled triggerfish for the first time and it was awesome! The crown jewel was the yellowfin tuna. Melted in our... More

Late afternoon- after a long boat ride back from a day of diving. We asked our fellow divers for suggestions for a place to get fresh seafood, they told us about Sammy's-just a short walk from the dive shop. The timing was just right for our liking- one other family seated in the same area. Hunger really sets in after... More

We really wanted to top off our vacation week on the Crystal Coast with good seafood dinner. Since we aren't locals we didn't really have any idea which place we should try; so we did some research on TripAdvisor and settled on Sammy's Seafood House. The atmosphere is fun but not fancy. It has sort of a bar and grill... More
