I asked a couple of locals in Atlantic Beach where they'd go for seafood, and this is one of the first names they tossed out. I had driven past the area earlier, so rolled back for dinner. I had my heart set on some fried fresh seafood, but went instead for the seafood extravaganza entree, and my...it was delicious! Mussels,... More

We are from Ohio, and happened to be in Havelock for a family wedding. Recommended by severel family members, We stopped at sammy's on Sept 12th, for "lunch". They were closed untill 4:00. The owner himself saw us walk up, and came out, and insisted we sit down, and he would serve us. There was 9 in our party. We... More

My family and I , eight of us total, stopped there for a late lunch while we were in town for a wedding. It was about 2 on a Friday. We weren't aware that they don't open until 4. No worries. The owner, Sammy met us at the door as we were leaving and insisted that we stay. Not only... More

We went to Sammy's tonight for dinner. Our party of 7 had the best time! The owner, Sammy, brought us a plate of fish that he had caught earlier that day with a cucumber wasabi sauce. It was amazing! The homemade cornbread is to die for. The stuffed flounder was rich and delicious! We had great service with our waitress,... More

What a wonderful family restaurant! The service was awesome, the food was outstanding and the owner (Sammy) came to our table and asked if everything was to our liking and it certainly was. Everything was cooked to order and very delicious. Well worth skipping the other sea food places and proceed directly to Sammy's.

Overall not pleased. The blonde bartender behind the bar was snooty and the food was mediocre. Ruddy Duck is far better and their service is outstanding.

My friend Patricia (age 62) and myself (age 63) had just had two drinks ,wine and beer, at Capt. Bills down the street. at about 8:30 PM on Friday night. We walked up the street and into Sammy's, my first time going there since was the Ice house. Walked into the front bar and order two drinks. The young bar... More

My daughters, a friend and I ended up at Sammy's by default, since it was a Monday and the Ruddy Duck (one of our favorites) was closed. But that was a good thing! I had not eaten at Sammy's in a few years, and then the restaurant had a different name. Sammy's has a very nice atmosphere and feels real... More
