This was recommended by friends that were from out of town but visited Moorehead City frequently. We said let's chance it. The food was great and the staff assisted us on the spur of the moment for a party of 11. We had a great time and will return. Thank you.

My wife and I came down to Atlantic Beach from TN for a weekend getaway on a whim. On the advice of a friend, we decided to check out the Ruddy Duck. It has a small town bar feel to it but don't let the looks fool you. The food was amazing. We started off with Cajun Mako bites. My... More

My husband and I arrived at Ruddy Duck Tavern in mid-afternoon for a late lunch, on a little powerboat that we tied up right at their dock -- wonderful. We walked right onto the deck to our table. The restaurant had few customers b/c of the hour, and we had prompt, friendly service and delicious, abundant food. The prices were... More

Really liked the restaurant. It was the suggested place by the staff at our hotel. We sat outside and while it was chilly, the water and view was great. Hated the hurricane shutters though.... Food was great, I had the tuna and my son had a salad and burger. I looked at other people's food as it came out and... More

We eat at the Ruddy Duck regularly throughout the spring summer and fall when we can bring our boat and dock. Food is basic Tavern, but portions are large and food is cooked well. Atmosphere is fun, with very much the local and outdoor feel. Winter preserves the feel, but indoors, with the result that it is a great place... More

We felt lucky to get a table as we did not have a reservation. We were told that we got the last available table. However, we then waited another 15 minutes before anyone acknowledged our existence at the table. While the waitress that "discovered" our existence (she wasn't assigned to it) was pleasant, the food was ordinary. And, despite ordering... More

Ruddy duck is my favorite place to go in morehead city. It has consistently good food and you can't beat the views. It can get really busy during the summer so go early the wait can get long especially if you want to sit outside. They have a great outdoor patio. The menu is large and they have daily specials.... We were finally able to get back to the Duck after the summer crowds. Tim is a fantastic bartender and makes a fantastic Old Fashion. Had the special skate tonight and it was outstanding. You can never go wrong with the Ruddy Duck or the Redfish Grill.

My wife and I stopped for an early dinner. I had the Margherita Pizza and she chose the Spinach salad. The Margherita pizza was up my alley!. It had pieces of fresh mozzarella cheese instead of the usual grated mozzarella, fresh basil, and diced tomatoes on a thin crust. The proportions of the ingredients were such that none of the...
