Great food

The food was great, and the staff treated us like celebrities. The deserts were divine. Service was supurb. This is the type of restaurant you expect to find in much larger cities. They really go all out to be helpful and give you a fine dining experience.

I have went different... More

Any time we travel we make it a point to choose only local eateries. I found this one on TripAdvisor. We went tonight at the start of our Thanksgiving vaca. Knowing the town is turning into a ghost town, since it is at the end of the season, we called to make sure they were open. When we got there,... More

we tried to have dinner at this restaurant tonight. We weren't greeted. Finally I asked if there was a hostess or if it was seat yourself, her reply was sit anywhere. There a was a young lady singing in the dining room and it was overpowering. After waiting and talking to my family, we all decided it was too loud... More

Slow down around the curve and do not miss The Mountaineer! Even if you don't see any other cars, stop and have a home-cooked meal. Dining at this restaurant is like eating with family! Our server was so friendly and even the cook came out to make sure everyone was happy and had everything we needed (we were and we... More

We ate breakfast here for our 3 day stay. It is about 3 miles outside of Maggie Valley, but well worth the drive. Soco Falls and an observation tower are only a short drive from it. The views are fantastic and it was not crowded. It is definitely a hidden gem. Every restaurant in Maggie Valley had a line on... More

First let me say the views from the back screened porch are some of the best in Maggie Valley. The food and service is top notch. My wife and I eat here every trip we take to Maggie Valley. The only reason this place isn't as well known as Joeys Pancake House for breakfast is that it is a short... More

We drove up a marvelous road with about 10 special friends. The food and service was amazing. We would definitely be back when we visit Maggie Valley again. Thank you PK and Betty for the invite. Hugs, Esther and Judy

Our first time eating at the Mountaineer Restaurant was for dinner. The restaurant was almost empty, 2 tables were full. Our waitress, Suzie, was a joy. A bundle of bubbly friendliness who obviously LOVES her job. We each had the prime rib, ordered medium rare. The prime rib was tender but was overcooked. Mine was 'medium' & my husbands was... More

My boyfriend and I have ridden to Maggie Valley on the motorcycle many, many times . When entering Maggie Valley - you pass the Mountaineer Restaurant on the left-hand side of the road...and like many others have passed right by. On Memorial Day weekend, when we passed we noticed a number of motorcycles and people out on the deck. (BTW...The... More
