First let me say the views from the back screened porch are some of the best in Maggie Valley. The food and service is top notch. My wife and I eat here every trip we take to Maggie Valley. The only reason this place isn't as well known as Joeys Pancake House for breakfast is that it is a short... More

We drove up a marvelous road with about 10 special friends. The food and service was amazing. We would definitely be back when we visit Maggie Valley again. Thank you PK and Betty for the invite. Hugs, Esther and Judy

Our first time eating at the Mountaineer Restaurant was for dinner. The restaurant was almost empty, 2 tables were full. Our waitress, Suzie, was a joy. A bundle of bubbly friendliness who obviously LOVES her job. We each had the prime rib, ordered medium rare. The prime rib was tender but was overcooked. Mine was 'medium' & my husbands was... More

My boyfriend and I have ridden to Maggie Valley on the motorcycle many, many times . When entering Maggie Valley - you pass the Mountaineer Restaurant on the left-hand side of the road...and like many others have passed right by. On Memorial Day weekend, when we passed we noticed a number of motorcycles and people out on the deck. (BTW...The... More

But for some good reviews, we would have never thought to stop here. Most of the once bustling, delightfully eccentric road side shops, souvenir and fruit stands and restaurants that first greeted the traveler descending from the Parkway to Maggie, are mostly now, sadly; silent and decaying. We had great meals. I had the prime rib a large portion at... More

Friendly, Reasonable, and delicious. My family and I have eaten there many times since 1988 as we go there when we are camping in the Mountains.

I have seen this place for years and never stopped. We rode by this trip and I decided as long as it has been there, it must have something going for it, so we stopped for dinner. The inside was really home style and comfortable and very clean. The food was excellent! If you like "real" cooking, this is your... More

Very nice dinning & screen in porch areas. The place in not that much to look at from the out side but very quaint inside. Great view from porch & dinning areas. We had sandwiches (corned beef was excellent) & a beer for lunch, food & service very good. We will go back.
