Fantastic Views, Very Accomodating

We enjoy this place. Prices are very good, service is fine, and the views are killer. We enjoy sitting on the outside enclosed deck. No problems or issues. Use the main entrance as the side entrance brings you into the kitchen! Nice little gift shop also.

Travelling from Asheville to Cherokee, wanted to get a non-fast food chain breakfast in Maggie Valley. Passed a couple of 'local' restraurants, started to turn into the Pancake restaurant but it was so crowded we went on, figuring on eating in Cherokee. Passed by the Mountaineer Restaurant and it looked quaint so we turned around. Glad we skipped all the... More

The staff was rude and the food was bland. Don't go here when there are other choices near by. They were rude the moment we walked in. We waited a long time for our food and then it was cold. We were sorry that we even ate there. Country Vittles is right down the street and the food is a... More

Food was tasty, good old country atmosphere and lots of Popcorn Sutton stories to hear, all you have to do is ask. The service is great!

I first ate at the Mountaineer when I was a young girl visiting Maggie Valley to go to Ghost Town in the Sky back in the 1970's. If I remember it was a Buffet in those days. Now it is under new ownership but still looks the same as I remember from all those years ago. We ate breakfast on... More

The title says it all. Great food and a "Million Dollar View". We were there for breakfast (blueberry pancakes - real blueberries; eggs and bacon), and it was outstanding. Maybe it actually tasted better because of the view and the great staff, but I don't really care. They also have cabins, and we'll definitely look into renting when we head... More

We had been wanting to try this restaurant the last few times we visited the area. After reading the reviews we thought we'd give it a try. Actually went there twice during our visit. Had the open face prime rib sandwich for lunch and it was really good. The prime rib was very tender and cooked just like I like... More
