For overall quality of the dining experience and versatility of the menu, J. Arthur's was a nice find in the Valley. Keeping in mind that this is a tourist area, the prices seemed to be quite reasonable when compared with restaurants with similar types of fare and atmosphere. They were comparable to what you might find in a higher-end theme... more

Small town restaurant with big prices. Table was wobbly. The butterfly shrimp were excellent; however, the steak was average. I would expect to pay their prices in a larger city but not in small town. I had to ask for tea refills twice. The salads that came with the entrees were so-so - server got them mixed up and when... more

Nice and casual atmospher. Some gentlemen were wearing sport coats for dinner, while most were wearing t-shirts and caps. Nice bar area. Nice variety of food to choose from, however it's a bit pricey. My husband had the prime rib, 8 ounce which was $22. The prime rib was served as ordered and was tender and flavorful. Came with a... more

From what we could tell J Arthurs was the nicest restaurant in Maggie Valley. The server was very nice and the food good, not fabulous. It's very pricey but there are so few good dining options in the area. more

We ate at J Authur's after our wedding in December. The Christmas tree was huge and beautifully decorated. All the decorations were fabulous. This restaurant was the perfect setting for our dinner. We sat upstairs where it was more intimate. The Chateaubriand was by far the best piece of meat we ever ate, and it feeds two. The red wine... more

I am a Maggie Valley local and have been to J. Arthurs many, many times. I enjoy the bar area which is non-smoking in addition to the entire restaurant and I prefer to spend my money in SMOKE-FREE establishments. Dining is available in the bar area and there is usually a nice fire in the beautiful fireplace. Luanne works the... more

We called ahead on a Saturday night with a group of six people. They told us it would be about an hour, but when we arrived an hour later they told us it could be as much as another hour and that others had been waiting ahead of us, so we'd just have to wait. Basically calling ahead did no... more

I thought this was a really nice restaurant. The prices might be a little expensive for some people, but it was worth it. The food was great. Everyone there was very friendly and the service was very good. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone. We plan on going back in October. more

My friend and I had dinner there on a recent Saturday night. I took advantage of call ahead seating and we were seated as soon as we arrived. The service was exceptional from everyone we encountered. I had the shrimp dish without the pasta and it was the best I've ever had. I would love to have a copy of... more
