We were in the area and thought we'd try this restaurant. Our waiter, Hunter, recommended the vegetable strudel. It was divine. Hunter had tons of personality and provided great service. The coffee was fabulous and the Key Lime Pie was delicious! Definitely worth the trip! Say "Hi" to Hunter for me.

My husband and I dined at J. Arthur's Restaurant recently and were delighted with the service and our meal. Our waiter was attentive and most helpful with the menu. I ordered the Southern Barbequed Glazed Salmon with red cabbage slaw and my decided on the Fried Catfish with Cajun remoulade. We had to wait awhile for our food, since the... More

Very disappointed in the food. We went for a family meal and chose it because of its steaks etc. We order several items off the menu but the prime ribs tasted rubbery and served in a bland oil. Desserts were very poor as well and coffee lukewarm. During our 2 week stay in the US this was the only meal... More

Thank you for your review. Our prime rib is slow roasted daily and served in au jus, not oil. As far as our coffee, it is locally roasted from smoky mountain roasters, and our customers rave about both of the items you mentioned. We would have gladly replaced or refreshed your food and beverage had you asked. More

My husband and I visited this restaurant while in Maggie Valley a few weeks ago. It looked inviting passing by, however it was a totally different story once inside. Not only was our names crossed off while we waited for a table (I had to ask the hostess and saw our names crossed off their notebook paper pad), it took... More

I'm not sure what you had recently or 20 years ago. While we have updated our menu over the years, our staples have remained the same as we are a family business with recipes that have been passed on for 4 generations, and never modified. Hopefully you found something to satisfy your taste while visiting Maggie this trip. More

My wife and I were staying in Maggie Valley for the weekend for a bike rally. Stopped in for dinner and found we had made a great choice. Food and service was excellent. Very warm greeting by the staff and our waiter Dave. We had put our order in ,and was brought some nice ,warm and tasty dinner rolls. We... More

My wife and I returned for a meal on a motorcycle pre-ride for our large motorcycle group in August. We ordered from the top end of the menu and it was all "inedible" in our opinion! Years ago used to be good food.

Thanks for taking the time to review us. I'm not sure what top end entree you ordered, but we would have gladly replaced it or refunded it had you mentioned it to your server or any member of our staff. We guarantee our food and service 100%, every time. More

Four of us ate at J. Arthurs and none of us were raving about our meal as we left. We ordered chicken parmagian, and the portion was small and the sauce was tasteless. It was served in a small au gratin dish. The meatloaf was a bigger portion, and it was tasty. The ribs were good, but the portions were... More
