Cozy

Had dinner here, food was what you would expect, and it was a little expensive, but the waitress was outstanding, and the atmosphere was quite charming.

We eat here whenever we are in town, the french onion soup is amazing, possibly the best ever! All of the food is good and the drinks make it a place to eat and hang out for a bit. We were there around thanksgiving last time and the holiday decorations were incredible with a 30' christmas tree! This a one... More

We were looking for something good to eat after a long day on the slopes. We had picked J. Arthur's before our trip and had been reviewing the menu online: we saw that reservations were suggested so we were able to make some for later that evening. We arrived 20 minutes early and were taken straight to a table. Our... More

We stopped in for lunch while on a family vacation over Christmas and the food and service were so great that we went back for dinner a few nights later. The menu had many choices that appealed to everyone in our party, from adults to kids. We would recommend the gorgonzola cheese salad and prime rib. Our kids loved the... More

J. Arthur's Restaurant is one of the best dining experiences we have when we're vacationing in Asheville! We were there on New Year's day, so beautifully decorated and as expected our meals were just amazing! Stuart had a fabulous Angus beef burger and home fries, and I had Shrimp and Grits with roasted red peppers, bacon and cheese, which was... More

We (2 Australian couples) were in town for one night a couple of days ago and had a recommendation to another restaurant. When we arrived, it was clear to us and the other five cars in the parking lot that it had closed much earlier than signposted. We looked elsewhere and found J Arthur's and couldn't have been happier. The... More

I heard a lot of hype regarding this restaurant, but I was surprisingly disappointed with the quality of food for the price. The service was good, but not what you would expect from a establishment this size

Wife and I stopped in here after a day of skiing and the place was very nice and cozy, still had the Christmas decorations up. Ordered some wine then had the pimento cheese toast for an appetizer then the meatloaf with veggies and fries ( mash potatoes not avail until dinner). we have eaten in other places in Maggie Valley... Service was slow, food subpar, and despite a nice atmosphere, the place had a weird vibe. Overpriced for the quality of food. Won't be back.

Dar rusty, I'm sorry that you were displeased with your experience. We were extremely busy this holiday season and wish you had told us of your displeasure at which time we would have fixed it, because every once in a while e make a mistake. Although everyone experiences things differently, I do find the "wierd vibe" a little strange as... More
