Great service and very good food

Visited this restaurant that was recommended by our hotel. We had a group of 10 adults and kids. The service was excellent and the food very good. The menu accomodated everyone and there was plenty of food.

Ok, not the best. Had slow service many times. Generic food.good enough but over priced for what it is. Go to bourbon and barrel if you want good food

We have been going to J. Arthur's for years, Wowza, it's always good and always consistent. Service, Food, Atmosphere, etc. You get what you pay for here and more. Try a Martini, Amazing. They are know for their Prime Rib and it will not disappoint, fall off the bone, ribs, hand breaded onion rings, shrimp and cheese sticks. They had... More

A variety of menu items, including home made soups and huge salads. Cozy, More family style than elegant, but a good stop.

Food was average. Service was average. Prices way to high. None of the entrees come with a salad unless you pay $3 more. The salad consist of lettuce, croutons and purple onions. That's it. Basically was the only place open in Maggie valley to eat.

We went there Valentines night for a romantic dinner. We 7.00 pm reservations and got there about 15 mins early and told them we were there, but the hostess could not seem to keep track of who was who,so we had to remind her more than twice who we were and our reservation time. Apparently they had made a bunch... More

The three of us had a blackened steak on a HUGE salad, a salmon fillet on a salad and prime rib with baked potato, respectively. All were just "OK", probably the blackened steak on a salad was the best. On a whim, I ordered a martini and it was EXCELLENT, big enough for two!! (maybe it was happy hour?). After... More

Noted for their Prime Rib dinners and Gorgonzola salad have always been outstanding. Fried catfish and blackened mountain trout are delicious for non red meat entree's.

I think we encountered the worst waiter we've ever had at this restaurant. Even getting a drink of water took forever. The food -- when it finally came -- was NOT good. Too bad, because the setting and the ambiance were wonderful. But we came for the food, and it was terrible. Horrendously overpriced, too. Would NOT go back.
