Surprisingly good seafood in the mountains!

My wife and I stopped in for lunch recently. We sat in the bar area where we chatted with the bartender and other patrons. We enjoyed cold beer, great coconut and popcorn shrimp, and delicious steamed oysters!

We love eating here because everything is fresh and so seafood tasty! You will think you are in a beach hut along the shore.

We stopped by here on a Tuesday afternoon so there was hardly anyone in there. We opted to sit in the bar area. The waitress was nice, not overly talkative but nice none the less. We ordered our drinks and an appetizer. We got the biggest basket of fried pickles I've ever seen. They were amazing! My husband got the... More

Horrible experience, burger was way undercooked after waiting 35 minutes. Staff was sitting behind us eating, cook looked like he hadn't washed his clothes in a month, water stains on the ceiling. This place was just nasty.

Good place to drink, don't recommend a meal here. We tried a lunch and had several issues ordering, the food and the bill. The locals recommended against this so we should have listened to them.....

Salty Dog's was the best. Loved their food, the friendly staff, and their generosity. They were very attentive to our needs,

We were a party of 3 visiting North Carolina from Savannah, Ga for the weekend with some family and were told Salty Dog's had unlimited crab legs for $20, got there, they didn't. It was only on Mondays which wasn't specified anywhere. Service was terrible no one knew we had sat until one of our group had gone and told... More

First off the ceiling in this place is nasty and stained. Looks like lots of water leaks. The seats are all torn. Slow service and understaffed. I saw a korean woman working there and was chugging a beer. Also the other staff were drinking beer. Not professional! Food was bland. Will NEVER eat here again. GROSS!

Terrible service terrible food and there were only seven customers including three in our party. When "food" arrived it was cold (chowder) and grilled shrimp was also cold.

I ordered shrimp and my son ordered fish. We both enjoyed our meals. The portion size was large. We will visit again when we visit Maggie Valley!
