Better than you'd think

Salty Dog's is a hole in the wall with some really good seafood. I will only comment on the food, as I was so not expecting atmosphere or anything like that, so I wasn't disappointed. The food was all very good. We had grouper fingers, fried perfectly with a excellent breading. For the entree, we... read more

The wait time for our food was 45 minutes and there was only one other family in the place who arrived after us. The only food which was good were the French fries and everything else was nasty. The waitress was nice and apologetic, maybe possible new. I do not recommend or will go back to this restaurant.

A group of 9 of us showed up around lunch time. I know you are thinking they were busy being the first weekend of June, oh and the Shriners were in the Valley for the yearly meet. That could not be further from the truth, there were only a few 6 at most people there when we arrived. They were... More

The place is filthy, disgusting . I can't believe the county has not shut this dump down . Food was terrible . Fried pickles and onion rings we're so hard I could have threw them on the wall and they would of shattered. We sent them back and when the bill came we were still charged for them . The... More

As soon as you walk in the door the place is really dirty and disgusting. I do not see how this place can stay open for business. Not only is the ceiling Staind with leeks and rusty round circles all over but the floor is just as dirty and disgusting. There is crud in most of the chairs. The toilet... More

This is the first terrible review I've written for anyone. I give everyone the benefit of the doubt. Even if I'm not happy I try to at least give an average rating to keep from harming someone's business in case they were having a bad day or an off night. I can't give this restaurant anything but a terrible. I... More

This is my favorite bar in Maggie Valley! Joe and Nicki own the place, which makes you feel like you are stepping back in time. because it's an old building, but I am soooo comfortable there. The food is really great, and priced right! The backyard bar has live music, and really cold beer. Motorcyclists never pass this place without... More

We love eating here because everything is fresh and so seafood tasty! You will think you are in a beach hut along the shore.

My wife and I stopped in for lunch recently. We sat in the bar area where we chatted with the bartender and other patrons. We enjoyed cold beer, great coconut and popcorn shrimp, and delicious steamed oysters!
