Smoky Shadows Lodge is a hidden gem high over Maggie Valley, NC.The lounge and dining room are large and rustic. The guest rooms are comfortable. Each has a private bathroom and some provide scenic views of the magnificant Smokies in the Southern Appalachian range. But even if you don't overnight there, do yourself a favor and arrange to be there... More

My wife and I + 2 dogs lodged comfortably in one of two SSL cabins on Easter weekend. Owners Ginger & Bud and their daughter Tracy could not have been more helpful and friendly. Ginger, Tracy and staff prepared and hosted a remarkable Easter dinner for what became a party of 20 of our family members and friends. My wife... More

We have enjoyed several meals there. It is a bit pricey, however the food is good, atmosphere is great and service is great. So if you are in the area and want to splurge a little it is a great place to treat your loved one.

Wonderful ambiance - amazing views, food is very good and served homestyle. Very plentiful amounts of food. You can BYOB, I suggest you bring your own mixers. My only complaint would be I think it is pricey.

If you visit Haywood County, NC, you definitely should plan on dinner at Smokey Shadows. The food is always delicious, the views from the porch are lovely, & the hospitality is warm & inviting.

Our inn keeper suggested we try Smoky Shadows Lodge while in Maggie Valley so we did last night. About 20 other diners (tourists) were gathered when we arrived listening to a wonderful guitar player and sipping wine. The log building, fireplace and country decor was very rustic. After about 45 minutes we were escorted outside and in cafeteria style, lined... More

If you want a truly mountain experience, you HAVE to eat here. And you HAVE to have their famous Tomato Pie! Sit out on the deck before dinner with a glass of wine (which you can bring from home). Can't remember if they charge a cork fee but I don't think they do.

When calling to inquire about their family dining options, I spoke with Mrs Ginger(Truly the Lady of the manor) and knew we had to experience her place. Within a few moments of conversation, I felt as though we were old friends! Her guiding hand is present everywhere and how nice to witness her family working so hard to please the... More

The rooms here were very nice and clean. We had to ask a guy cleaning outside why the place was closed and he said the owner was on his way. We had to wait till he got there to find out they don't stay around all the time. The restaurant only opens on certain days. Nice place to stay if... More
