I went to the Hampton store on a weekday in October while in the area. The whole place looked like a ghost town. there were no cars, the shopping area next door looked closed. We went inside the store, which was open but the restaurant area was not. It was dark. There was a woman working there, on the phone... More

Reminds you a little of Mast General store, but not nearly as crowded. Lots o flittle out buildings and they had live music playing the weekend we stopped by! Worth the stop

Took the family for a lunch after driving the back roads leaf looking. The blackberry cobbler was truly homemade and served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream flecked with vanilla bean. The banana pudding was also delicious. Pulled pork sandwich was good, not great. Baked beans were so-so. Love the atmosphere, stocked up on jams and grits.

the front of the store features cute cards, candy, and pottery. The back is a sitting area and BBQ and sandwiches are very good. Two types of sauce are available on the table. Both tasty, but neither fiery. No alcohol.

Brunswick stew was a little spicy but had great taste with lots of chicken. Sweet potato casserole was delicious and broccoli salad was fantastic. Lots of old fashioned bottled drinks. I had A&W root beer in a tall bottle. My friend enjoyed the smoked turkey. Reasonably priced.

I like this place (when it is open), but find it a bit over priced for what you get. The home cookin' is very good - greens, etc. and the store itself is charming.

i went from a four on my last visit to a three because they seem to be giving less food on the sides. my baked beans were only a few spoons and you get a half a cob of corn on the fried corn. i feel it should be a full cob for the price they charge. The food is... More

We have stopped here several times in the past but never eaten here. This year we've had to hunt rainy day fun. From Thursday to Sunday they advertise mountain music, so we thought we'd give it a try for lunch. The store is fun in itself. There are unusual fun mountain items and signs all over the walls. This particular... More

We love stopping here! This place is just what you would expect and hope for in an old mountain store. There are tons of gifts and knickknacks and cool things to look at, recipe books, candy, cabin decor, jams, honey... The restaurant there is very good, tasty BBQ. I have also been there many times when we get to enjoy... More

My boyfriend and I have been to the Old Hampton store several times. Their marvelous BBQ sandwiches are one of the few things we die for in the whole world! They have their own BBQ smoke house and all BBQs are fresh made, so juicy and tender. After you finish their BBQ, I'd recommend to walk around in the store.... More
