The chopped BBQ was good, not much of a smoke flavor, but the meat was moist. THE BEST HUSH PUPPIES WE'VE EVER HAD! They were smaller so you got more of that cripsy yumminess from the outsides. Very friendly and fast service, and can't beat the prices!!!!

I go to Restaurants for the food. Lexington Barbeque is world famous so I had to ask the hotel manager, a local, where he ate barbeque. He steered me to this restaurant off the beaten path and I was not disappointed! It is rustic but it was packed with locals, not tourists. That is its best endorsement! The food was... More

I stopped in for lunch today based on reviews from a few different websites. I couldn't be more satisfied with the meal, service, prices, or location. It's right off I-85 just inside Lexington city limits.I had the chopped BBQ special and my children had the burgers (one small & one large) they ate their meal, then the rest of mine!... More

I live in Lexington and this place is a staple. Best BBQ in town as well as the best steak. The steaks are always juicy and you can't beat the price. A must try for everyone!!

This was simply the best barbecue we've ever had. We decided to stop by for lunch on our drive home from Charlotte after reading about it in Our State Interstate Eateries by DG Martin. We both had the chopped plate with the slaw and french fries. It was fabulous! The pork was so tender and moist...with a flavorful tangy sauce.... More

Yet another Lexington joint, with excellent BBQ and very little ambiance, actually it probably has the least ambiance of any BBQ joint in the state, except Snook's Old Fashion BBQ in advance, and the late Simp's BBQ in Roper. This place very well may have been a country store at one point - and it is small, no more than... More

mobile review I grew up in Davidson County and have eaten at pretty much every BBQ joint around here. Moved away 8 years ago, and this is the first place I come to when I come back home to visit. Not just the best in NC, but this is simply the best pork shoulder BBQ in the world. Period. I... More

less than a mile off I-85 with ample parking. lexington is the BBQ capital of NC. Four of us ate here and the food was nice and different, the red slaw was slightly sweet and not too much vinegar and had no tomatoes as red slaw I have had everywhere else. The coarse BBQ is actually chunks of tender pork... More

Heading home from vacation the first weekend in August we decided to try Lexington, NC barbecue. Did research and decided to stop here (all positive reviews on TripAdvisor). The first place we were going to was closed because they were on vacation. Stopped at Backcountry BBQ around lunch time and was looking forward to some pulled pork bbq. Sat down... More
