This is Lexington, not Charlotte or Greensboro with high end Japanese restaurants. What this restaurant does offer is a really good dinner with many food selections. Plus, the owner is friendly, sincere and tries to make everyone feel welcome and appreciative of their dining experience. The cost is very moderate and the preparation and style of Japanese food is really... More

Giving the standards of the city (there're just a very few other places besides the regular fast foods), not a surprise for such good reviews. The first "Japanese" restaurant without a miso soup I've ever experienced. It is half southern deep fried food. The famous "roof bar" is a 7 barstools little corner (with alcohol, yes).

My wife and I decided to give Shoto a try and that won't happen again. The waitress was new, which is fine, but she was poorly trained. When I asked about one of the sauces, she replied she "didn't know." She didn't offer to find out, either. I ordered a Budweiser and was brought a Bud Light. My wife ordered... More

If you would like to spend a Saturday afternoon in Americana, come to Lexington NC and stroll down main street. The old architecture and the scenery is very quaint and enjoyable for this little town. When you get hungry, stop in at Shoto Japanese Steak House. This is what we Southerners call a "hole in the wall" restaurant. It isn't... More

My family eats there about once a week. There are plenty of choices on the menu. I personally love the Teriyaki Chicken with broccoli, carrots and noodles. All of their main dishes come with soup or salad. Plenty of food on the plate, I have never left hungry. Prices are very reasonable. Staff is friendly and very accommodating.

This is disappointing for local food. There is a Hwy 8 location near HRL that is no longer affiliated with this one. It is much better. Don't waste your money!

This is our goto place for a quick meal. I wouldn't classify it as traditional Japenese cuisine, but what they serve is fresh, tasty, and extremely consistent. Their sauces are scratch made and the ingredients are fresh. They have an on-site bar and a pretty good selection of micro brews. Whether you order chicken, steak, or seafood, you should be... More

There menu being both fresh and very open letting you put together a meal you can think of with house made sauces. Portion sizes that almost guarantee you will have a snack later when you get home! Hot good cooked the way I asked, friendly wait staff and the best drinks! Everything was reasonably priced with a relaxed atmosphere. A great place for a date, family dinner or for a solo night out.
