Delightful Surprise in a rustic setting

A quick ride to Lenoir ending up listening to music and enjoying a surprising tasteful meal. Take a little drive outside of Charlotte, relax and enjoy. Variety galore on the menu, very reasonable. Server Karen was fun and informative. Will go back and have some sweets, no room this time

I have been there twice and had the same meal both times. We started with the house wine, that I thought was $6, but turned out being $8, was a very sour and long open Domino Merlot. I had the stuffed chicken with spinach and artichoke. I did not remember the , I think it was vodka sauce the last... More

Food was ok. Not very food allergy friendly. Chicken Marsala was good. Staff very friendly and tried to be accommodating. Hope a second visit would be better.

I know this sounds bland, but I've had the same meal here three times. The first time, I fell in love with the fried green tomato BLT. The second time was good, but less so. This last visit, there was only a single thin slice of tomato for the entire sandwich. To make matters worse, my wife had the same... More

The 1841 Cafe is a standout if you are visiting the Lenoir, NC area. THey offer local wines and really interesting daily special. The ambiance is elegant yet feels warm and relaxing. The prices were very reasonable, and the staff courteous.

1841 Cafe offers great sandwiches and special entrees every day. Their pub chips are great with their homemade ranch dip. They invented the sliced portobello mushrooms with batter and deep-fried. YUMMY!!!

My first time at this restaurant. The Alfredo and shrimp was cooked perfectly! The fresh bread was amazing. My friend ordered a hamburger. It was huge! The staff was very attentive. The price was very reasonable. We will definitely be returning here and would recommend it to everyone!

I had higher hopes for a place whose name invoked a fair amount of character and charm. Atmosphere was hard to discern. Part piano bar, part down home restaurant, part bar, part I'm-not-so-sure. Food was mediocre. I had the shrimp and grits and sad to say this dish did not impress. The grits were actually tastier than the shrimp and... More

Located in an older building in historic downtown Lenoir. We were greeted and seated promptly by a very friendly staff. Drinks followed shortly. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the available wines and menu items. The Moscato was delicious. Menu is American, salads, burgers, fish. I had a large salad that had Apple slices, feta cheese, cranberries and pecans with... More

Tried this restaurant for the first time today for lunch after reading favorable reviews. It lived up to and surpassed all the great reviews. I had a wonderful chicken salad sandwich on a fresh-baked croissant! The rest of my party had a steak sandwich and a reuben. The reuben was wonderful--juicy, lean corned beef on great grilled rye bread. I... More
