Ate Lunch Downstairs at the Bar

Needing a place to eat lunch, we found this place. Although the the dining area wasn't open then, we were seated downstairs and offered the while menu. The burger was tasty. Onion rings were filling. We enjoyed looking out at Lake Lure.

Been here a few times. View is nice, food is ok, just ok. It is on the pricey side. Like the place but like other places more.

On a rainy afternoon, my family of five stopped here to split desserts and have drinks on the covered patio. It was just what we wanted--brownie sundaes (humongous--our three kids devoured it) and a molten chocolate and Carmel bundt cake (good, not great). I had a surprisingly great glass of Malbec. This place's location at the end of Lake Lure... More

Went on a recommendation and was not disappointed. Great view of Lake Lure and a good lunch type menu of hamburgers, fish sandwiches, and appetizers.

Very nice place on the lake. We went several times because it was out of season and there were no other nice restaurants opened during the week. On weekends there are more options. The service was excellent. Although we could eat outside you have great views from inside. The food was delicious try the fresh trout. A quiet nice place... More

Hard to find a nicer place to have lunch - rustic and right on Lake Lure. We had the kale salad with chicken added and split it. It was good but at $15.00 a tad pricey. Service was below par. Had to ask to have my drink refilled twice and had to ask to have extra salad dressing for my... More

I asked for a gluten free hamburger bun and the waiter confirmed it was definitely gluten free. However, it was just like my husband's regular bun. I ate the burger and didn't complain. It was a delicious Western burger. The view was tranquil and lovely. I did not medically need gluten free. However, with the waiter's non caring attitude, he... More

Finish a 10 k run and wanted a burger and a drink. So I took a right out of the resort and found Larkin's. Everyone (staff and other customers) was very friendly. They could tell I was there for the races the next day. I was invited to eat at the table with other runners who were locals and help... More

I hate being negative, but we had a bad experience here. We were only in the area for a few days with our daughter and son in law. Based on the favorable reviews we decided to have lunch at Larkin's. It was a nice warm, sunny fall day so we sat outside. The restaurant was busy. The view of the... More
