Jack Mackerel's restaurant is located steps away from the Kure (pronounced "CURE - ee") Beach fishing pier. The seafood is very fresh and the amount of food provided is more than enough for you to make two meals out of one. The negative is that there is not a lot done creatively with seasonings or flavor. My wife loves shrimp... More

We like to visit during the off-season avoiding the many tourists that flock to this area in the summer. Their specialty is seafood with other choices available. Wait staff is courteous & the Island décor makes this a fun place for a meal. There is a large bar with TVs, 2 dining areas and several outdoor seating areas.

The food and drinks were good!!! Excellent atmosphere, but the prices were a little expensive! I'd kind of expected that because after all, it was FRESH SEAFOOD and I'm a SEAFOOD LOVER!!! :)

Eaten here many times when I've visited Carolina Beach/Kure Beach area and I've never been disappointed. Nice menu selection, very good food, and great service. Had the black and blue burger and it was delicious. Great for large groups too.

Stopped at Jacks after visiting the aquarium. Me and my friend and our two toddlers. Parking was difficult, there were only a few spots. The restaurant was very cute and decorated for Christmas. Our waitress was very helpful and friendly. I ordered the blackened grouper wrap, which I found very tasty. My friend had the fried shrimp platter and liked... More

Wonderful seafood dishes but they follow it up with wonderful steaks and other dishes. Jack Mackerels owners also support the local charities and always come through to provide a good time for everyone

Stopped at Jack's, on our way to the Aquarium. All five of our lunches were very good & the service was great. Not many restaurants open for lunch, at this time of the year, in Kure Beach. Nice place to stop, if you're headed to the Ferry, or coming from the Ferry. Will definitely return.

We eat here all the time. Is it the best food I've ever eaten. No it's not. Is it a decent place to grab a nosh and then stroll on our beautiful pier afterward- yep, fits the bill Look for the specials. I've gotten amazing steaks specials here for a great price. Also Wednesday night in the off season is... More
