Food was average and not anything fabulous. I was expecting more. There were 4 of us and neither of us thought it was great just ok

We went there tonight and although the atmosphere and the history of the building was awesome, the food wasn't as good as expected. We had the Frogmore Clambake...and it was bland. No one even mentioned wanting to visit again after we left...nice for the history but better food elsewhere.

We took the grandparent recommendation tonight and they were right - black pelican is great. I ventured into a new dish for me; fish duo of wahoo and Cobie. Great adventure. Must get coconut pie as well

This was our first meal at Black Pelican. It had been recommended by our condo agent. We had a short wait (20 min) and were seated in what I'll call the attic. It was a cozy area consisting of about 6 tables total but since heat rises, I had a hard time catching my breath because it was so HOT!... More

So they were busy. First day of spring break. I don't think they were quite prepared for it. Food was slow coming out. Most things were slightly, I do mean slightly, over cooked . However the flavors were great on everything accept the seafood risotto. Very strong bacon flavor . Did not love it. But that's just a taste thing.... More

I recently had dinner and beers with friends here and i could have been happier. The beers were ice cold and the food was phenomenal. The manager (i believe his name was Martin) was very accommodating and made us feel right at home. Best restaurant on the beach and best service in the world! Thank you Martin!

We have visited the Black Pelican many times and have never been disappointed. They have a varied menu, with lunch specials every day. There are many choices that are not fried and several good salads available if you're looking for healthy alternatives. I had the Baja Mahi special with black beans, guacamole and chipotle sauce -- delicious! The fish was... More

We stopped here several times while planning a weeding for my daughter. The food is consistently good, in particular the shrimp and grits. If you are in the kitty Hawk area, this is somewhere that you defintely can get a really good meal. I even bought a t-shirt

My mother loved the clambake and the veggies were done very well. Ranked among the top restaurants we ate at while on the OBX. I would recommend this to anyone coming to the Outer Banks for the first time.

We visited for the first time expecting good food all around, based on reviews. Our appetizer, the shrimp and crab dip, was delish. The seafood for the main course was also good, but the sides accompanying each dish were disappointing. We had the fried flounder and shrimp, and the baked shrimp and crab. Each was accompanied by saffron rice and... More
