Good fun, nice family restaurant.

This is a great place to start (or finish!) your week in Nags Head/Kitty Hawk area. Lots of choices on the menu & very friendly service. Big restaurant that can accommodate large family groups. Great food but just a little pricy. However, worth the visit!! Nice gift shop also on site.

Big anniversary dinner and a bit of a let down. Food was good but service was pretty lackluster and special requests could not be accommodated. Fish and beef were both a bit dry. Drinks were great. Dessert was huge. As noted, appetizer was highlight of the night. Family and large group oriented, so not a great place for couples or... More

Nearly all restaurants here say "Bikers welcome;" it's a casual beach town after all. But this place has amazingly upscale food, a historical Wright Brothers themed decor, and genuinely friendly and capable wait staff. The menu (just check it out) is so far above fish and chips, Truly fine dining options here at don't-break-the bank prices. The only difficult thing... More

I had the grilled fish of the day (swordfish), which was wonderful! My kids ordered the pizza, and it was delicious also (I stole a piece!). It was a fun evening and a delicious meal.

I was in Kitty Hawk for business and ended up having 3 meals here: dinner with group (excellent fresh swordfish), dinner by myself at the bar (excellent blackened salmon) and lunch on the deck (very good blackened tuna sandwich). If you can eat outside even better.

Being up north, I had to ask our waitress Barbara what the different fish was and how it tasted. She described it perfectly and made a recommendation that was very good. The wine was good and the dinner was excellent. If your're in the area, stop and see for yourself

Well, after hearing two people recommend it my family and I thought we would give it a try . Food was just ok.. I would not return. The French fries were the best thing I had. Theirs a dessert bar that you walk past , skip them their nasty! Very dry , looks were deceiving . It's ocean front ,... More

While visiting the Wright Museum we asked for a restaurant recommendation and were directed to the Black Pelican. The restaurant, we found, has a history as a Life Saving Station and (the Wright Brothers used it in 1902 to notify the world that they had flown. The history is nice, and the building is not new, but a restaurant is... More

Do not pass by this unpretentious restaurant without a flashy sign a block off the main highway. Fresh local steamed oysters, same day caught fish (I had the Wahoo), and a chocolate lovers torte. The drink specials alone, make it worth stopping in.
