Great food with a quick staff--love the fish tacos but were disappointed that the BOF (basket of hand cut fries with s/p) were taken off the menu. Either go very early or after 8 during season or you'll have a wait

We recently ordered dinner to go from the Rundown, during our annual family visit to Duck. It was a Sunday night in August. I ordered the grilled gamefish. I took one bite and spat it out. The fish tasted waaaaaay beyond it's sell by date. I mean really bad. My son's calamari points were tasteless and beyond bland and frozen... More

The setting was great with an ocean view. We sat on the room top and listened to great music and had cocktails.

Our party of six enjoyed a variety of platters and all were satisfied with the choices. My coconut shrimp over salad was delicious! The calamari is served with spicy cabbage and was mated with a huge platter of fish tacos. The dining room was welcoming, staff attentive and the upstairs deck offers live music. Moderate prices for the beach!

When visiting the OBX, seafood is a must. But if you get tired of a week of seafood give this place a try. It's fantastic! Prices are reasonable and you get a lot of bang for your buck. The Polynesian Ginger chicken is great and highly recommended.

The Tsunami Salad with Mahi Mahi I had a few weeks ago at Run Down was one of the best meals I've had on the Outer Banks. The salad had mixed greens, cabbage, cucumbers, tomatoes, Chinese noodles, and topped with fresh, piping hot Mahi Mahi!! My favorite part was the homemade ginger dressing. I liked the dressing so much, I... More

Appetizers were great - we had the queso dip (a little spicy), boneless buffalo wings and coconut shrimp - all were very good and I'd order again. The coco loco chicken dinner is very good with the pineapple chutney for dipping. The black beans have great spice. I could take or leave the rice - wasn't really cooked all the... More

Yeah, it's tradition. Why else would we visit Rundown Café twice per year OBX trip after OBX trip? Great food that's a great value for the money? Yep. Great, attentive service? Uh huh! Staff retention? Sure! It's great seeing familiar faces visit after visit. Bottom line, everything is ALWAYS good! We've been visiting since 1992 (although they say they've been... More

This is a family friendly restaurant with an outdoor Hurricane Bar that we visit every year during our stay (sometimes twice). The food is top quality with a Jamaican vibe, the staff is young and energetic, and we always enjoy Scott, the best Bar Man on the Beach.

Food was good and the atmosphere is great to take the whole family. The prices were reasonable. They have fish outside that the kids can feed. Just a fun place to go.
