This is not the traditional chopped vinegar based BBQ that you might normally find in eastern NC but it's more of a smoked pulled pork, which was also great. We had pulled pork and pulled chicken sandwiches and both were excellent!! The pulled pork has a great smokey flavor to it and was very tender and moist. The pulled chicken... More

Tried the rack of ribs. They were not as tender as I would have liked. Mac n cheese OK. We have ate at soyees n pigmans. We both prefer their food ..its falls off bone. Not bad food here but average.

We went on the 18th. Between the four of us we tried the brisket, pulled pork, smoked chicken, ribs, and various vegetables. First, not impressed with the mac & cheese as a side. All vegetables were seasoned "very nicely" although slightly heavy on the pepper - fried okra was perfect. A nightly special was cabbage prepared with bacon and brown... More

The pork bbq was just ok, but the beef brisket was amazing. It was tender and the sauce was phenomenal. I wanted to go back just for that. The cabbage and green beans were great too. We also got fried chicken and macaroni which were not really anything special to me. I have had better of both of those. We... More

We're a big family from Michigan in for a family wedding and we chose High Cotton BBQ to go for my brother's birthday dinner. The food was delicious; everyone from my 1 & 3 year old daughters to my 3 giant brothers enjoyed the BBQ. We could NOT have been more pleased with the friendly, warm, accommodating service we received.... More

We had the pulled smoke chicken sandwiches. They were good. We are from near BBQ capital Lexington NC. Hard to beat what we get back home but still good bbq here and prices are reasonable as well. Thanks guys!

In the past the ribs have been outstanding. Tonight was a bad experience: some of the food was good and some not. Service was disappointing. Management apologized and hopefully will provide a better experience for others going forward.

We lunched here and enjoyed the food: pulled pork BBQ and fried chicken were esp. good, as was a special side of the day, collard greens. Generous portions. Good value. Spacious diningroom which was family friendly.

My wife and I had lunch recently at High Cotton BBQ in Kitty Hawk. It is a down home place with friendly staff and some great BBQ options. Pork, Chicken, Brisket and some really good country style side dishes. And the best part, everything is very reasonably priced. Can't say enough about how good the food is for such a... More

I grew up on Rocky Mount NC BBQ and there are few places that come close to what I had as a kid. This place meets all expectations. Food was wonderful prices can't be beat. It is a must when at the OBX.
