Decent bbq

Wanted to try east Carolina BBQ and enjoyed it. The desserts are not amazing but the pork sandwich was great. Large dining areas and a buffet for anyone who wants it.

We have been here twice, once for lunch and once for dinner. Although others have reported issues with service, we have had excellent servers both times. Megan is an absolute delight. The food is mediocre at best. The hush puppies have a strange texture. The fried chicken is dry, but the barbecue is fairly good. Coleslaw is usually a personal... More

I had the senior barbecue plate with slaw and a baked sweet potatoe; Hush puppies are excellent - hot and light tasting...nothing fancy..just good food,. they have a buffet also.

We traveled over 1 hour to meet our daughter who also traveled I hour and we were not disappointed. We ate on the buffet side and all the food looked very good and there was plenty to choose from and to our surprise there was a salad bar on the sit down side with clam chowder again all was good.... They have good food. I would say that the carolina bbq is good but not the best i have had. The collards are amazing! Service is so so. Went on a monday night not real busy. The over all selection is limited especially if you have kids. They only had like 3 deserts too. Price is reasonable though 21.53 for... More

King's is always a good place to take your friends that are not use to this great BBQ. Never disappointed with anything on the menu. Don't miss this restaurant when visiting Kinston.

My family eats here often. But. We get it to go. Food is delicious, but the service needs improvement.

There's a trip to Lou Lou's Oyster Bar, located in King's Restaurant in our future at least twice a month since we are fortunate enough to live in Kinston. I always order the half pound of steamed shrimp. They are cooked to perfection. We also enjoy their oysters, steamed crab legs and side orders. NC craft beers available at good... More

As we drove by, we were trying to figure out what "pig in a puppy" was. Fancy corndog? Country Turducken? On my return trip, I was able to stop and find out. Think of it as a hoagie roll made out of hush puppy batter, with Eastern Carolina BBQ. The hush puppy bun somewhat overpowers the BBQ, but it's a... More

We grab a pork BBQ sandwich at Kings nearly weekly on our drive to the coast. The pork shoulder meat is tender and lean, and the slaw is crunch and sweet. A vinegar-pepper sauce brings a nice burn to each bite. Inside, the restaurant is pleasant, service is friendly. Local craft beer, domestic beer, and wine are available as are... More
