Dependable

Kings has good BBQ and the fixings that accompany. The staff is always friendly and there is plenty variety on the menu. Definitely southern cooking. Prices are reasonable.

Delicious. Hush puppies perfect. The stew, forgive me for not recalling the name, but don't miss it. Mother Earth brews to accompany. Service was friendly, informative, and interesting for us out of towners. Nothing but good experiences in Kinston on the whole!

I travel from Durham, NC to New Bern, NC quite a bit. I have this number in my phone for a call ahead order. I stopped in November and December 2015 on my way home for the holidays. I ordered the pig in a puppy and fresh skins. Located right off Hwy 70, it is a convenient and quick stop... More

Service was good. Waitress took our order accurately and was friendly and helpful while we decided whether to order from the menu or take the buffet. We ordered broiled scallop dinner and rack of ribs dinner. He loved their BBQ sauce which had just enough heat to be tangy, and not overwhelm the flavor. The broiled scallops were bland, but... This restaurant is known for its 'Pigs in a Pup'. They also have a fantastic bbq platter if you are not into hush puppy's. Plan for at least 45-60 minutes, you probably want to just hang out and talk after you finished your meal!

There is a good variety of items on the buffet. Tonight's items include breakfast items, pulled pork, fried shrimp and chicken. Good assortment of deserts. It is a bit dated and generic but a good value.

The atmosphere is way overdue for a makeover. They offer a buffet as well as made to order. I had the dinner buffet. Typical of buffet food, not all items were fresh and most overdone. Fried chicken is good, pork BarBQ is very good. Way too much fried and lacking of fresh veggies. Banana pudding is really good.

Been seeing the billboards for this institution for more than 20 years, and finally made myself stop for a HUGE lunch. the Boss Hog was as advertised, pulled pork and slaw, and the Pig in a Puppy is everything the billboards proclaim, pork bbq on a huge hushpuppy. The tea was bottomless, and a bag of cracklins to go.

Ate here several times over weekend. Food consistent comfort food. Love their bone in flounder. They have a sandwich called "pig in the pup". It's BBQ on a huge hushpuppy. Yum, yum.
