During the weekend of October 4-6th we were on the Outer Banks for my son's 21st birthday. While he and a friend were at the movies I went looking for some place close by to have a cocktail. I intended to go to Tortuga's Lie but went in the opposite direction and pulled into The Jolly Rodger. Despite the fact... More

It has been a while since I reviewed the Jolly Roger (prior review was very favorable), my wife and I decided to visit it again during our most recent trip to Kill Devil Hills. Prior to this time, our experience was with their breakfast (which we had on coupon from the hotel we staying at the time). Each time, breakfast... More

My husband and I go to the Outer Banks for a week in October. The week always is during our Wedding Anniversary. We went to Jolly Rogers for the first time last year and it was so good we went back this year. I was impressed last year, they were having a special on prime rib. My husband got the... More

This is a favorite dining spot for everyone in my family. The prices are very affordable & the portion sizes always are plentiful. We love their breakfast plates, soft-shell crab sandwiches & they have the biggest, homemade cinnamon rolls I've ever seen!! Overall, this place is AMAZING!! Prompt service, friendly on-site manager (Maryanne) and food that's consistently delicious. Always one... More

My wife and I have been a customer since 1975 when my sister and her brood had a pretty messy spaghetti dinner in the then back room. Being a resident of DuBois PA we have been vacationing at the Outer Banks since 1958 and have been a regular customer of the Jolly Roger on and off for the last 39... More

My wife and I were on our honeymoon and decided to try this place. We saw the ad on tv and thought we would give it a try. The pirate-themed atmosphere was really cool (we both love pirates so we were in the right place). I had the country fried steak and she had the chicken fettuccine alfredo. The food... More

The Jolly Roger has disappointed me two years in a row. I've been there twice, and both times the service was less than stellar. On my second trip we waited almost an hour at the door, despite having a reservation set. Our waitress was non-attentive. She took a long time to take our drink and food orders, the food was... More

This place cracks me up. It is literally adorned from ceiling to floor with pirate memorabilia and Christmas lights galore. When we first arrived I thought this place looks like the food will be BAD. I was wrong dead wrong. The wait staff is also dressed like pirates and they are very attentive and welcoming. We ate here twice during... More

Expect some pirate kitche and servers in piratical outfits, but also expect some yummy food! Sheri was our server and was as terrific as the seafood. We were impressed enough that we're going back for the prime rib special on Friday. Enjoy!
